Where to stay & things to do in
California Disneyland Holiday 2023 & 2024
No matter your age, Disneyland will always be magical, whether you’re old or young. Disneyland California, just 30 minutes southeast of Los Angeles, is home to some of the most thrilling rides, spectacular attractions, iconic characters and sensational events that will keep the whole family entertained. As the first Disneyland park to open way back in 1955, Disneyland California has undergone expansions and renovations to keep up with its demanding popularity over the years. With the addition of New Orleans Square, Bear Country, Mickeys Town, Star Wars, Galaxies Edge and Disney California Adventure Park, there has never been a better and more exciting time to visit Disneyland California.
With so many different rides and attractions to choose from, you’ll want to be sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore as many as possible. Take a spin on the Astro Orbitor, suitable for all heights and ages, or why not bounce around on the Jumpin Jellyfish? If you want a real thrill, take a tour around the dark and treacherous Haunted Mansion.
In Disneyland, the larger theme park, you’ll find many popular Disney attractions, including Space Mountain, Big Thunder and the thrilling Splash Mountain. You'll also find the all-time classic rides from Pirates of the Caribbean, nine themed lands, character greetings and Galaxy's Edge, a Star Wars-themed attraction spanning an incredible 14 acres.
Disney California Adventure Park is more suited to Pixar and Marvel fans. With the opening of the Avengers Campus, guests have the opportunity to meet their favourite Avengers characters, including Black Panther and Thor. Fans can also take a portal to Doctor Strange’s lab within the campus.
Head to Pixar Pier and take a ride on the Incredicoaster or jump onboard the Pixar Pal-A-Round Ferris wheel and enjoy a panoramic bird's eye view of the park. You'll also see one of the most impressive light and water shows at Disney's California Adventure World of Color.
Whether you're in the mood for Mexican, fried chicken or just trying to satisfy a sweet tooth, wherever you visit, you'll find plenty of refreshments to satisfy all appetites.
There is no better combination than chili, cheese and corn chips all snug together in a bread bowl cone. The Chili Cone Queso is a quick and easy on-the-go snack, as is the Monte Cristo sandwich. A combination of deep-fried ham, turkey and cheese layered into a sandwich and dusted with powdered sugar.
For some Alfresco Dining, head to Carthay Circle Lounge and enjoy the light Mederterrain-themed cuisine, all washed down with their signature Carthay Martini.
If you’re in the mood for a meat feast, you'll want to book the Bengal Barbecue. They serve everything from Pork Belly Skewers to Bengal Rice Plates. They also have a vegetarian and plant-based menu available.
Although Disneyland California is open every day of the year, you may want to avoid visiting during the rainy season. January, February and March are the wettest months and average around 3 inches of rain. In terms of temperature, Disneyland remains a pleasant temperature all year round, with the winter season seeing an average of 19°C. June sees the start of summer, with temperatures reaching a toasty 30°C, so you'll want to be sure to pack a hat and plenty of sunscreen so you can enjoy the magic safely all day long!
