When planning a theme park vacation, many people assume that summer is the best time to book, and although there is no wrong time to visit, summer tends to be the busiest and hottest season in California. Another factor to consider is sun exposure. Although the sun is guaranteed to shine, that doesn't eliminate the chance of sudden thunderstorms and showers. If you have sensitive skin, you'll want to dress appropriately and reapply sunscreen as often as possible. Fall and spring are the two most comfortable seasons to visit Universal Studios. The weather is pleasant with fewer crowds; if possible, schedule your visit for a weekday. Weekends tend to be a busier time, with the park drawing in similar crowds on both Saturday and Sunday.
