I set up a friend of mine's camper in spot one. When we took the cap off to hook up to the septic it was overflowing. Then we found out that the person that was there before got moved to a different spot because of that same reason.

Very nice campground on Lake Atkins. Quiet, full hookup, restrooms/ showers. Plenty of shade trees. Massive campers might need the field. Owner and host are very helpful. Host keeps the place clean and maintained. I travel for work, but always come home to this place.

We just stayed a whole week at Adventure RV. We have a 22 ft, 30 amp toy hauler. Acces to the campgrounds is easy & the spots are mostly pull through. The site has full rv hookups & is mostly shaded.. The location is just a short, short drive to one of the AGFC Public Access boat launches just at the end of the road from the campground. The Camp Host (David) & his wife (Jody) were extremely gracious, friendly & helpful. David is one of those guys that we felt like we have known our whole lives. Our last night at camp, we fried up some fish & invited them over to enjoy some company & he even cooked us up some delicious hushpuppies. We will be back & are excited to see the continued upgrades to the campsite. Thank you Adventure RV for a great week.

This venue hosted hundreds of RV’ers and tent campers for the eclipse but they did nothing to properly prepare for the event. They had one dumpster that was overflowing the day before the eclipse, and it was an absolute disgusting mess two days after the eclipse. They had one combo bathroom/shower (meaning one small room with one toilet, one sink, and one shower) for hundreds of people, the line for it was super long all the time, and it was a fly-ridden disgusting mess. They needed to book port-a-potties well ahead of time but they didn’t. RV’ers could use their own campers, but tent campers had no option. I’m sure a lot of people resorted to going to the bathroom in the woods. Even the septic tanks used by RV’ers were filling up as we left. They should be reported to the Health Department. The manager was present the day or two before the eclipse to take people’s money, but then we never saw him on eclipse day or the two days afterwards. The building in the picture is being renovated and was closed for our stay. You had to go into town to get anything. The campground does have campers who live here long-term. They are a bit… peculiar but seem harmless. One lady likes to walk around and be nosy about everything. The campsites themselves are no frills. Yes there were electric, water, and septic hookups but that’s it. Most sites I saw had no clearing area, no picnic table, no fire pit. Thank goodness there aren’t any other special events like the eclipse that would bring a large crowd to this campground, they aren’t able or willing to do the proper things to manage such a crowd. I hope the money they gouged out of us will help them improve the services for the few people that do stay here in the future.

I've been staying here for a few months now and really like it. The staff that I've interacted with have been very cordial and respectful, and they have always had an open door to any questions I've had. The lake is right next to us and there are so many different birds that are always flying around. There are some really big birds, but idk what kind they are. They just are really amazing to watch and are usually flying in packs. There is a new dock that was just built and its a real pleasure to sit on and watch the sunset if ya like, even thoigh its starting to get kind of cold. Next to the park is like 80 acres or so of some state forest or some state land or something like that but you can go for walks in it if you want to get in touch with your nature side. All in all its a nice place with some nice people, and theres some good things to do if youre into the nature stuff.
