Look no further than Quarry Cove Park, a charming and tranquil retreat located at 6789 AR-60 in Plainview. This hidden gem offers a peaceful setting, essential amenities, and picturesque views, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a quiet getaway amidst the natural beauty of Arkansas.

Quarry Cove Park is consistently described by visitors as a "small, clean, and quiet park," which immediately sets the tone for a relaxing experience. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of larger, more crowded campgrounds, this park offers a refreshing change of pace. The emphasis on cleanliness is evident throughout the facilities, ensuring that your stay is as comfortable and hygienic as possible. From the well-maintained bathrooms to the overall tidiness of the grounds, attention to detail is clearly a priority.

One of the standout features of Quarry Cove Park is its beautiful views, likely overlooking a lake or body of water, given the mention of a "boat ramp" and "swimming area." These scenic vistas provide a stunning backdrop for your camping experience, whether you’re enjoying a morning coffee or watching the sunset. Each campsite is thoughtfully equipped with covered picnic tables, fire rings with grills, lamp posts, and a table, ensuring you have all the essentials for a comfortable outdoor living space right at your site. This thoughtful provision of amenities enhances the camping experience, allowing you to focus on relaxation and enjoyment.

Beyond individual campsites, Quarry Cove Park offers a range of communal facilities designed to enhance your stay. A clean bathroom facility is conveniently located on a hill, accessible for campers. For fishing enthusiasts, a dedicated fish cleaning station is a practical addition. Families and groups will appreciate the amphitheater, group shelter, and playground, all situated on top of the hill, providing spaces for recreation, gatherings, and entertainment. The presence of a boat ramp allows for easy access to the water, perfect for those eager to fish, boat, or simply enjoy the lake.

The park’s staff also contributes significantly to the positive experience. Park attendants are described as "nice and helpful," indicating a welcoming and supportive environment for all guests. Their readiness to assist ensures that any questions or needs during your stay are addressed, adding an extra layer of comfort and hospitality that makes a real difference in the overall camping experience. This commitment to guest satisfaction is a hallmark of Quarry Cove Park.

While the park is highly recommended for its tranquility and amenities, it is worth noting the feedback regarding RV size. Visitors with larger rigs, such as 32-ft motorhomes with tow dollies, suggest that while there are spots that can accommodate them, many sites might be more comfortable for smaller rigs. Some sites are described as being on the edge of a steep hill, or require careful maneuvering. Additionally, some sites share water hookups, necessitating a long water hose (at least 50ft). Being prepared for these aspects can ensure a smoother setup upon arrival.

Overall, Quarry Cove Park offers a truly wonderful camping experience in Plainview, Arkansas. Its blend of a clean and quiet environment, beautiful views, essential campsite amenities, and helpful staff creates an inviting atmosphere for a memorable outdoor adventure. Whether you’re looking for a short, peaceful stay or a base for exploring the natural beauty of Arkansas, Quarry Cove Park is a destination that promises relaxation and enjoyment.

Location and Accessibility

Quarry Cove Park is situated at 6789 AR-60, Plainview, AR 72857, USA. This location places the campground in Plainview, a town in Yell County, Arkansas. The park's address on Arkansas Highway 60 provides relatively straightforward access for travelers, making it reachable by various vehicle types, including RVs.

Plainview is a smaller, rural community, which contributes to the "quiet and peaceful" atmosphere of the park. While it offers a serene escape, guests should be aware that larger urban centers with extensive services might be a bit of a drive. However, Plainview and nearby communities would likely offer basic necessities like gas stations, local diners, and small grocery stores.

The park's setting by a body of water (implied by "boat ramp," "swimming area," and views) is a significant aspect of its location. This proximity to water allows for direct access to recreational activities like fishing and boating, which are major draws for campers in Arkansas. The natural landscape of Yell County, known for its scenic beauty and proximity to the Ouachita National Forest, further enhances the appeal of the park's location for outdoor enthusiasts.

Access within the park is also an important consideration. While the main entrance on AR-60 should be clear, some internal site layouts might require careful maneuvering, especially for larger rigs. The mention of "scary" sites on a steep edge or short sites suggests that prospective visitors with big RVs should carefully review site maps or inquire directly about suitable spots. Additionally, the need for a long water hose for some shared hookups is a practical detail for preparation.

Despite these specific site considerations, the overall accessibility to the park via AR-60 makes it a convenient choice for those exploring this region of Arkansas. It offers a balance of being nestled in a quiet, natural environment while still being connected to a state highway for relatively easy travel. For those seeking a peaceful, lakeside camping experience without being too far off the beaten path, Quarry Cove Park’s location is a strong asset.

It is a small clean and quiet park, 1 dumpstation with dumpsters. Clean bathroom on a hill. Fish cleaning station. Amphitheater, group shelter and play ground on top of the hill. Boat ramp. Park attendants are nice and helpful. We enjoyed our short stay. Didn't get any fishing done, due to rain. In my opinion, this park is more for small rigs. We have a 32 ft motorhome with a tow dolly for the Explorer and there were only a few spots, I would feel comfortable to back into. 5, 10, 22 & 30 We had booked a Multi family site (5), since we wanted to camp with friends. It was right across the swimming area on the hill. 2 spots site by site. For me most of the sites are scary, right on the edge , backed up on a steep hill. While other sites are short or I tried to figure out , how I would be able to back into it. Also important, bring a Long water hose. Some sites Share a water hook up in between 2 sites , way back. 50ft at least

After searching online and finding no campground map to know where our site was, we found a map at the entrance. We arrived at night and had a very difficult time finding our sight because there was no way to see sight #'s in the dark. We loved our site!! When we went to use the restroom and shower we had problems. There were lights in the bathroom but they were not on and we could not find a switch. Luckily the bathroom has plenty of skylight window so it was light enough to see. The women's side had no hand soap. I tried to use the shower but in order to use it I would need to press and hold the button constantly on the women's side. I gave up and went without a shower. On the men's side my husband had to press the button in his shower 15+ times to finish his shower. Showers need updated badly!
