Camp Rumslinger About

For North Carolinians considering their next camping adventure, exploring all available options is key to finding the perfect fit. Camp Rumslinger, located in Ferguson, NC, presents itself as a unique and perhaps more rustic choice for those seeking a specific type of outdoor experience. As with any lesser-known or highly individualized campground, understanding the nuances of what it offers, and what it might lack, is crucial for local users to make an informed decision.

Based on direct feedback from previous visitors, Camp Rumslinger appears to cater to a particular niche. For some, it has been a highly positive experience, particularly for those on longer stays, even for work. These campers highlight practical benefits such as "excellent internet connection" and "trash pickup," alongside the undeniable appeal of "beautiful scenery" and a "large area for our dogs to run along the creek." The ability to purchase "fresh eggs" on-site adds a charming, farm-fresh dimension that resonates with many who seek a more grounded experience. The sentiment of finding "clean sites and a reasonable price" suggests value for certain long-term needs, with one reviewer praising the owner, Tabitha, as "a pleasure to work with and very accommodating."

However, it is also important to acknowledge that the same uniqueness that appeals to some may not align with everyone's expectations. Another perspective indicates significant concerns regarding the presence of numerous chickens, a lack of traditional amenities such as bathhouses or walking trails, and issues related to owner interactions and perceived safety. These contrasting views underscore that Camp Rumslinger is not a one-size-fits-all campground. Instead, it seems to be best suited for those North Carolina campers who prioritize specific long-term living needs and a more untamed, self-sufficient camping style, and are comfortable with a very hands-on approach from the property owners. For those seeking a highly amenitized resort-style experience, it may not be the ideal choice.

Location and Accessibility

Camp Rumslinger is situated at 141 Clonch Dr, Ferguson, NC 28624, USA. Ferguson is a smaller, rural community nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Wilkes County, North Carolina. This location suggests a more secluded and natural setting, away from the hustle and bustle of larger towns or cities. For North Carolina residents, reaching Ferguson typically involves traveling on scenic state highways, offering a drive that transitions from more developed areas to a tranquil, forested environment.

While the campground is described as being "20 min from grocery stores," indicating that essential supplies are within a reasonable driving distance, potential visitors should be aware that it is not in an urban center. This distance to amenities points to a more remote experience, which can be a significant draw for those seeking to truly disconnect and enjoy the quietude of nature. The accessibility allows for a sense of escape while still keeping daily necessities within reach, making it suitable for North Carolina campers who value peaceful surroundings over immediate proximity to commercial centers.

Conclusion: Why This Place Is Suitable for Locals

For North Carolina residents considering Camp Rumslinger, it's crucial to understand that this campground offers a very specific type of outdoor experience, making it suitable for a particular segment of local campers. It is not a traditional amenity-rich resort campground, but rather a more rustic and independent option that appeals to those with particular needs and preferences.

It’s a place for those who seek to forge their own path in the outdoors, rather than follow a well-trodden one.

I do not recommend this “campground” they have 40 plus chickens that get in your things and poop all over your stuff. The owners do nothing about it. We stayed here for about 2 months and paid the most for the smallest lot. The owners tried to sue another couple here in the campground bc they didn’t like them. The owners walk around with their guns pointed at people’s camp site. They have no amenities, no walking trails no bathhouse no dog run, nothing! Save your money and sanity do not stay here!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our one month stay! We had everything we needed as we were working from home - excellent internet connection, trash pickup, 20 min from grocery stores, beautiful scenery and a large area for our dogs to run along the creek. Not to mention, it was awesome being able to purchase fresh eggs while were there. The sites are clean and the price is so reasonable. Tabitha was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. We hope to stay again next time we have work nearby.

I highly recommend this campground. I had the pleasure of staying for a few months, and it was wonderful! The sites are very spacious and clean. The owners are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you with your needs. Access to the river is a huge bonus great scenery while kayaking, and my little ones enjoyed the creek! Definitely will be booking again.

Small campsite with big welcome We have been to this campsite before and continue to love its enduring charm. It is a relaxed site, where nothing is too much trouble for the owners, who make you feel part of their family. The setting is stunning and is surrounded by rolling countryside in every direction
