Peaceful. Serene. Majestic river. What more could you ask for? How about a paved bike path meandering along the river shore! Walking leisurely is just as great! Park is well kept & quiet. Well, unless you happen to be there when there is an exciting ball game in process. Lovely mix of entertainment options!

Lots are spacious & hookups are well located for convenience! Fire pit has the adjustable cooking rack. Picnic table is metal & in good shape. Restroom/shower house is fine but humid & needs cleaning. Trails are fantastic. Loved the dells & roadside garden. Town is just a skip around the corner. Nearby parks are nicely groomed. Check in & out time is 4pm so we don't have to lose sleep to rush out in the morning. Love it. Enjoyed the weekend!

I'm staying here to help my mom who was recently diagnosed with cancer and doesn't have long to live. The Dell Rapids campground is a nice place but the noise level, especially early in the morning, is absolutely ridiculous. I woke up this morning to some guy mowing right outside for a full hour. I guess he wanted to make certain everyone was up, but he didn't have to. The dirt haulers and semi-trucks did a good job of that. In the off chance anyone was able to sleep through all of that, a train came through, blowing its whistle over, and over. Oh, then the mowing guy... having finally finished mowing... decided he would drive around the campground to marvel at the freshly cut grass and re-awaken anyone who had fallen back asleep. The only things missing are jet liners and helicopters, but I fully expect they are on their way. I should also mention that they sell water hookups but don't have one for each campsite. When I arrived, the water spigot that looked to be mine was in use by the campers behind me. There is one spigot for every two campers and no splitter. Dell Rapids is a beautiful city and this is a beautiful park, but don't expect to get much sleep here. It ain't gonna happen. I know, I've tried.
