Opened in 2023, this isn't just another place to pitch a tent or park an RV; it’s a thoughtfully designed retreat offering a "beautiful, fun and friendly environment," as highlighted by recent visitors. Surrounded by the gentle embrace of mountains and bordered by creeks on two sides, it provides that perfect blend of peaceful natural setting and convenient access to adventure.
Snowshoe Valley Camping & Campground is specifically designed with the West Virginia outdoor enthusiast in mind, offering a variety of camping options to suit different preferences. Whether you're a seasoned RV traveler, a traditional tent camper, or someone looking for a rustic cabin escape, there's a spot for you here. The campground thrives on its natural backdrop, where the soothing sound of a stream can lull you to sleep, creating that much-desired "peace noise" a reviewer mentioned. While the main road might bring some distant early morning truck traffic, for those of us who appreciate the dawn, it's a minor detail in an otherwise tranquil setting. The slightly limited cell reception is even considered a highlight by many, offering a genuine opportunity to "be disconnected out in nature," fostering a deeper connection with your surroundings and companions.
The true appeal for West Virginians lies in the campground's dedication to providing a basecamp for exploring Pocahontas County. It’s "practically right at the bottom of the mountain," offering stunning views, including the possibility of seeing fireworks from Snowshoe Mountain right from your campsite. This prime location makes it an ideal hub for local adventurers looking to enjoy all the seasonal activities our region offers, from summer mountain biking and hiking to winter skiing and snowboarding. Snowshoe Valley Camping & Campground aims to be a welcoming and accommodating place where you can relax, recharge, and truly embrace the "Stay wild!" ethos that defines our Mountain State.

Customer Reviews
Come across this place on my bike when I was passing through trying to find a spot to pull over and set up my tent. Awesome people with good hearts. Nice stream running through the camp gives some peace noise as you fall asleep. The road that runs through can get some early morning truck traffic that you’ll hear in the distance but I’m a sunrise guy so not an issue for me . Not the best reception but yet again not a big deal cause I like be disconnected out in nature. Why I give it a 5 star . Stay wild!
Great choice of campsites and great river access. Practically right at the bottom of the mountain you can see the fireworks from your campground.
We stayed here for a bike trip to Snowshoe and had a wonderful experience! Right by a beautiful stream and faces Snowshoe. Firepit was excellent! Highly recommend and will be back again!
Great area to stay with easy access to Snowshoe mountain. Campsites are well marked and spread out.
Hidden little gem! ✨
