A Better Place offers a distinct living experience, characterized by its long-term residents and a particular sense of community that sets it apart. It’s a place where some individuals have called home for decades, fostering a deeply rooted environment in the heart of Central Florida.
A Better Place has been home to some residents since as far back as 1995, indicating a strong sense of stability and longevity within the community. This long-term residency can create a unique social fabric, where neighbors have known each other for years, contributing to a familiar and established atmosphere. For Floridians seeking a place to settle down with a sense of continuity, this long-standing presence can be a significant draw.
The community exhibits a unique dynamic regarding its environment and perceived security. One resident highlighted that "people are up all hours of the night so it's like 24 hour security." While this might imply a vibrant, active community at all times, it also suggests a constant level of presence that could contribute to a sense of safety and watchfulness within the park. This constant activity could be a benefit for those who appreciate a lively, always-aware neighborhood.
Despite the activity, the community also allows for personal space and quiet living for many. As one long-term resident noted, "In my area it's nice and quiet I keep to myself my neighbors keep to themselves we say hi every once in awhile." This suggests that even within an active community, there are areas or individual preferences that allow for a more private and serene living experience, catering to different lifestyle choices. This balance allows residents to engage as much or as little as they prefer with their neighbors.
For Florida residents considering mobile home living, A Better Place offers a unique established community in DeLand. It's a place where you can find long-term neighbors, a distinct atmosphere of constant activity, and a practical approach to daily life. While it may not suit every family's needs, particularly those with highly active young children, it provides a stable and potentially affordable option for those seeking a specific type of mobile home park environment.
The long history of residency within the park speaks to its ability to retain its inhabitants, suggesting that for many, it provides a satisfactory and comfortable living arrangement. It’s a community with its own character, inviting those who appreciate its unique rhythm and established nature to become part of its fabric. For those looking to put down roots and become part of a long-standing DeLand neighborhood, A Better Place offers an interesting opportunity.

Customer Reviews
The rules only apply to certain people. The management gets loud and in personal space when talking to minors but tries to play it off when parents get involved. If you are active and like to get out of the house and explore your neighborhood or have kids that like to do so i would not recommend.
I've lived here since 1995 in the same house. Neighbors are friendly people are up all hours of the night so it's like 24 hour security. In my area it's nice and quiet I keep to myself my neighbors keep to themselves we say hi every once in awhile
Some houses look beautiful but wow some of them are a mess. Broken gutters , mold on gutters , plants coming out of gutters, mismatched colored gutters. People parking on the street. I wonder who enforces these rules and why certain houses get away with breaking them. Don’t live here unless you want a dollar tree HOA.
The community is clean. However some neighbors are not very friendly. I thought it being small the people would be friendlier but some just seem to hide. A few let their children run wild and destroy community property. The park manager seems to rarely be available when needed. Our lot rent keeps going up every year even though the gate has been taken down that they told us several yrs ago that was why the rent would go up. We no longer have gated community but pay the price as if we still were. As many homes as we have in here there is no reason for constant yearly lot rent increase. I pay more now on lot rent than I did when I had a mortgage.
My husband and I were considering on buying since the homes are nice, but there is a weight limit on the dogs allowed. So much for being Pet friendly.....
