Hammond Mobile Home Park About
For those in Louisiana considering mobile home living, understanding the nuances of a community before making a move is paramount. Hammond Mobile Home Park, located in Hammond, LA, offers a dedicated space for mobile homes. It's a place where residents have experienced significant changes in management and, consequently, in the living environment. This overview aims to provide factual information based on recent resident feedback, allowing prospective residents to make informed decisions.
Historically, this park was noted for being "very well kept" under previous ownership, with regular maintenance of roads, sewer systems, and grounds. Issues were reportedly addressed immediately, contributing to a desirable living experience. However, recent reviews from current residents indicate a significant shift in conditions since new ownership took control. It's crucial for anyone considering Hammond Mobile Home Park to be aware of these reported changes and challenges, which include concerns about infrastructure, maintenance, and community standards. Our goal is to present a clear picture based on direct feedback from those who live there.
Hammond Mobile Home Park is located at 42149 Greg Dr, Hammond, LA 70403, USA. This address places the park within the city of Hammond, a significant hub in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. Hammond is known for its university (Southeastern Louisiana University), its role as a regional center for commerce, healthcare, and education, and its strategic location near major interstate highways.
The park's position on Greg Drive provides access to the broader Hammond area. While specific details on immediate walking or biking accessibility to amenities are not highlighted in reviews, Hammond as a city offers various conveniences. Residents would typically rely on personal vehicles to access local grocery stores, pharmacies, dining establishments, and other services available throughout the city. Hammond's main commercial corridors, such as West Thomas Street and the areas around the university, offer a wide range of shopping, dining, and entertainment options that would be within a reasonable driving distance.
For those commuting or traveling, Hammond's proximity to Interstate 55 and Interstate 12 is a notable advantage. I-55 provides direct routes north towards Jackson, Mississippi, and south towards New Orleans. I-12 connects to Baton Rouge to the west and Slidell/Northshore areas to the east. This makes the park's location potentially convenient for individuals working in or frequently traveling to these larger Louisiana cities. While the location itself is within a major regional center, recent resident feedback emphasizes that the internal conditions of the park are a primary concern, regardless of external accessibility.
Based on the provided resident reviews, the services offered at Hammond Mobile Home Park, particularly under current ownership, appear to be a significant area of concern. It is important to note that these are reported deficiencies rather than typical services one would expect from a well-managed mobile home park.
- Lot Provision: The park provides plots for mobile homes, as is standard for this type of community.
- Waste Collection (Inconsistent): Residents report that "garbage maintenance sometimes goes and picks up garbage and sometimes takes weeks to go and pick up the garbage," leading to foul odors. This indicates an inconsistent and potentially deficient waste management service.
- Water Supply (Compromised): There are serious concerns about the potable water system, with residents stating they have been "boiling drinking water for weeks with no notification as to whether the potable water system is restored." This suggests a failure in providing safe and reliable water.
- Sewer System (Compromised): Reports indicate "raw sewage is running onto the ground from certain mobile homes," pointing to severe issues with the park's sewer infrastructure and maintenance.
- Road Maintenance (Deficient): Residents report that the "roads are horrible" and "falling apart," indicating a lack of proper road maintenance within the park.
- Community Standards & Noise Control (Lacking): There are reports of "noise disturbance levels has increased" and "no standards to new mobile homes being setup for new tenants," suggesting a decline in community standards and enforcement.
The reviews clearly suggest a significant decline in essential services and maintenance since the change in ownership, leading to what residents describe as "undesirable" and "unsafe conditions for children."
Based on the provided customer reviews, the "features" and "highlights" of Hammond Mobile Home Park, particularly under current ownership, are largely negative and represent significant areas of concern for residents. It is crucial to present these as reported by those living there:
- Deteriorating Infrastructure: Roads are described as "horrible" and "falling apart."
- Poor Waste Management: "Garbage maintenance sometimes goes and picks up garbage and sometimes takes weeks to go and pick up the garbage," leading to "smell the trash."
- Compromised Potable Water: Residents have reportedly been "boiling drinking water for weeks with no notification as to whether the potable water system is restored."
- Unsanitary Conditions: "Raw sewage is running onto the ground from certain mobile homes."
- Increased Noise Disturbance: "Loud noice" and "noise disturbance levels has increased" are reported.
- Lack of Standards for New Homes: "No standards to new mobile homes being setup for new tenants."
- Unsafe Conditions: Explicitly stated that there are "unsafe conditions for children."
- Unfriendly Environment: "People there are not nice."
- Unresponsive Management: The owner's alleged attitude is "If someone does not like living here, then move," indicating a lack of concern for resident issues.
These reported conditions paint a picture of a park experiencing significant challenges in maintenance, safety, and resident relations under its current management.
Based on the highly critical and concerning nature of the provided resident reviews, there is no public information or indication of any promotions or special offers being extended by Hammond Mobile Home Park. The current feedback focuses on fundamental issues related to living conditions and management responsiveness rather than incentives for new residents.
In a situation where residents report "undesirable" and "unsafe conditions," including issues with roads, water, sewage, noise, and garbage, it would be highly unlikely for the park to be actively offering promotions. Typically, mobile home parks might offer incentives such as:
- Reduced security deposits
- First month's rent discounts
- Referral bonuses
- Special rates for longer lease terms
However, given the serious deficiencies described by current residents, any prospective tenant should prioritize verifying the current state of infrastructure and services rather than seeking out promotions. It is strongly advised to visit the park in person and speak with current residents before considering any move or discussing lease terms. Direct communication regarding the reported issues would be essential.
For individuals who still wish to contact Hammond Mobile Home Park despite the serious concerns raised in recent reviews, the available contact information is as follows. It is advisable to use this information to directly inquire about the current conditions of the park and address any concerns you may have.
- Address: 42149 Greg Dr, Hammond, LA 70403, USA
- Phone: (985) 345-8517
- Mobile Phone: +1 985-345-8517
Given the reported issues regarding communication and management's stance, it is crucial to approach any inquiries with a clear understanding of the challenges outlined by current residents. A direct conversation would be the only way to obtain up-to-date information regarding the park's status and any changes or improvements that may have occurred.
For Louisiana locals, particularly those in the Hammond area seeking a stable and comfortable mobile home living experience, the recent feedback regarding Hammond Mobile Home Park at 42149 Greg Dr raises significant red flags. While mobile home parks can offer affordable and community-focused living, the conditions described by current residents at this specific location appear to fall far short of acceptable standards.
The reports of "horrible roads," inconsistent "garbage maintenance" leading to foul odors, a compromised "potable water system" requiring residents to boil water for weeks, and even "raw sewage running onto the ground" from some homes, point to severe deficiencies in basic infrastructure and public health. Furthermore, concerns about increased noise, a lack of standards for new mobile home setups, and "unsafe conditions for children" paint a picture of a deteriorating living environment. The alleged "attitude" from the owner, suggesting residents "move" if they are unhappy, indicates a concerning lack of responsiveness and commitment to resident well-being.
Considering these serious issues, Hammond Mobile Home Park, under its current reported management and conditions, does not appear to be a suitable or recommended place for locals to establish a home. While its location within Hammond offers general access to city amenities, the internal problems described by residents severely undermine any potential benefits. Prospective residents are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution, thoroughly investigate the current conditions in person, and consider the implications of living in an environment with such reported fundamental infrastructure and management issues, especially given the explicit recommendation from a long-term resident against moving into the park. Prioritizing safety, sanitation, and a responsive management team is crucial when choosing a mobile home community in Louisiana.
Customer Reviews
Roads are horrible people there are not nice loud noice garbage maintenance sometimes goes and picks up garbage and sometimes takes weeks to go and pick up the garbage sometimes you can smell the trash not recommended
When initially move into this Mobile Home park, it was controlled and owned an Owner that ensured that this community was very well kept. The roads, sewer, grounds, etc were maintained regularly. If a problem came up, the Owner addressed it immediately. Now, a new Owner has taken control of this Mobil Home Park and it has become an undesirable place to live. The roads are falling apart, we have been boiling drinking water for weeks with no notification as to whether the potable water system is restored, the noise disturbance levels has increased, there are no standards to new mobile homes being setup for new tenants, raw sewage is running onto the ground from certain mobile homes, among many other deficiencies. There are unsafe conditions for children. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the Owner's position on these matters is as follow: "If someone does not like living here, then move". What an attitude. Therefore, I highly recommend that no one moves into this park.
