For RV travelers navigating the I-55 corridor through Louisiana, finding a convenient place for an overnight stop is often a top priority. Singh RV & Campground in Hammond offers a location that is close to the interstate, making it a viable option for those needing a quick pull-thru site. Located at 14154 W Club Deluxe Rd, Hammond, LA 70403, USA, this campground aims to provide essential services for RVers, particularly those on a tight schedule.

As a professional content writer, it is important to provide a balanced and factual overview based on available public data, including direct customer feedback. Reviews indicate that Singh RV & Campground serves as an acceptable solution for a single night's stay, especially due to its proximity to the interstate. One reviewer noted, "I saw the low ratings, but we just needed a pull-thru site for overnight. It was acceptable for just one night." This suggests that while the park might have areas needing improvement, it can fulfill the immediate need for a temporary resting spot.

Interactions with staff have been positively reviewed, with one customer stating, "My interactions with staff over the phone were good, and the person I spoke with was friendly & polite. She took payment over the phone and messaged me a copy of the campground map and assigned us to site number 1. We appreciated her assistance." This highlights a responsive and professional front-office experience, which is crucial for travelers, especially those arriving after hours or facing unexpected delays.

This article will provide a detailed look at Singh RV & Campground, covering its location and accessibility, the services it offers, its features, and how to contact them. It aims to give local Louisiana users and passing travelers a clear understanding of what to expect from this Hammond campground.

Location and Accessibility

Singh RV & Campground is strategically located at 14154 W Club Deluxe Rd, Hammond, LA 70403, USA. This address places it just off Interstate 55, a major north-south highway that serves as a critical travel artery through Louisiana. The primary advantage of this location is its direct proximity to the interstate, making it an easy and quick stop for RVers traveling through the state, particularly those looking for an overnight solution without venturing far off their route.

However, accessibility within the immediate vicinity of the park has received specific feedback. One review mentions that "the road it’s on is very narrow and isn’t well lit," which can pose a challenge, especially when arriving after dark or in inclement weather. Navigating to specific sites within the park was also noted as difficult due to a lack of clear signage and poor lighting. These points are important for travelers to be aware of when planning their arrival, particularly for larger rigs.

Despite these internal navigation challenges, the external location offers convenience for quick access to Hammond. As a university town, Hammond provides a range of amenities including gas stations, grocery stores, dining options, and basic services. This proximity to urban conveniences ensures that guests can easily replenish supplies or grab a meal without having to disconnect their tow vehicle for an extended journey. For those prioritizing quick access to the interstate for an overnight stay, the location of Singh RV & Campground remains its most prominent feature.

Services Offered

Singh RV & Campground provides fundamental services essential for RVers, particularly those seeking an overnight or short-term stay. Based on customer feedback, the park offers the following key services:

  • Full Hookups (FHU): Sites are equipped with essential full hookups, including 50 Amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. One reviewer confirmed, "Our site had FHU with 50A - we used an adapter for our 30A rig." This provides convenience for self-contained RVs.
  • Pull-Thru Sites: The availability of pull-thru sites is a significant convenience for transient campers, as it eliminates the need to back into a spot, saving time and effort, especially for larger rigs or late-night arrivals.
  • Friendly and Accommodating Phone Staff: Reviews highlight positive interactions with the office staff over the phone. One guest noted, "My interactions with staff over the phone were good, and the person I spoke with was friendly & polite. We appreciated her assistance." This suggests reliable and professional remote support for bookings and inquiries, including payment over the phone and messaging maps.
  • Dedicated Office Hours (though possibly limited): While one reviewer mentioned the office was closed upon their 7 PM arrival, the ability to take payment and provide information over the phone indicates that staff are available during certain hours to assist guests.
  • Basic Utility Access: The provision of water, electricity, and sewer hookups on individual sites is a standard and necessary service for RV parks, ensuring the basic needs of campers are met.

It is important to note that while these core services are provided, the reviews suggest that the overall condition of the infrastructure supporting these services, such as roads and site surfacing, could benefit from significant improvements to enhance the user experience.

Features / Highlights

Singh RV & Campground possesses certain features that, while needing enhancement in some areas, offer specific advantages, particularly for transient RVers. Based on customer feedback, here are its key features and highlights:

  • Interstate Proximity: The park's most significant highlight is its "close proximity to the Interstate." This makes it an incredibly convenient stop for RVers traveling long distances on I-55 who simply need an overnight place to rest without detouring far from their route.
  • Pull-Thru Sites for Easy Access: The availability of pull-thru sites is a major convenience, especially for large RVs or those arriving after dark. This feature allows for quick and easy parking without the need for difficult maneuvering.
  • Full Hookups (FHU) with 50A Service: Sites are equipped with full hookups, including 50 Amp electricity, water, and sewer. This ensures that RVers have all necessary utilities directly at their site, catering to self-contained units.
  • Responsive and Friendly Phone Staff: Customer service over the phone is consistently praised. "Eddie was very helpful & friendly" and "the office person was responsive and professional" are direct quotes that highlight the helpfulness of the staff in assisting with bookings and inquiries, even accommodating late arrivals.
  • Potential for On-Site Amenities (Seasonal/Condition Dependent): The presence of a fenced pool (though covered at time of review, implying seasonal operation) and a fenced playground (though noted as swampy due to drainage issues) suggests an intention to offer recreational amenities that could be highlights if properly maintained.
  • Long-Term Resident Presence: While potentially limiting overnight spots, the presence of "full-time residents or long-term campers working in the area" indicates a community aspect and perhaps a more stable environment for those seeking extended stays, if space allows.

While the reviews point to areas requiring significant improvement, these features, particularly the location and basic hookups, make the park functional for its intended purpose as an overnight stop.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a professional content writer providing factual and SEO-optimized descriptions, it is important to note that specific, time-limited promotions or special offers for Singh RV & Campground are not publicly detailed in the provided customer reviews or general information. RV parks, particularly those that cater to a mix of transient and long-term guests, commonly implement various pricing structures and incentives, though these are often communicated directly by the park management.

Common types of offers that RV parks might feature, which potential guests could inquire about, include:

  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Rates: Many parks offer discounted rates for extended stays, making weekly or monthly options more economical than consecutive daily bookings. While not explicitly stated as a "promotion," this tiered pricing is a standard practice that offers savings for longer visits. Given the mention of "full-time residents or long-term campers," it is highly probable that Singh RV & Campground has competitive monthly rates.
  • Seasonal Discounts: Parks might offer lower rates during off-peak seasons or specific times of the year when demand is lower.
  • Loyalty Programs: Some campgrounds offer incentives for repeat visitors.
  • Membership Discounts: Affiliation with RV clubs (e.g., Good Sam, Passport America) often provides members with a percentage off daily rates. While Singh RV & Campground was once a KOA Kampground, the review indicates it "must have failed to live up to KOA standards," suggesting it no longer operates under that brand or its associated discount programs.

To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding current rates, any available specials, or extended stay options, prospective guests are strongly encouraged to contact Singh RV & Campground directly using the provided phone numbers. Their friendly phone staff would be the best source for current pricing and promotional details.

You can use either the main phone number or the mobile phone number to reach them. Given the feedback about the park's condition and lighting, it is particularly advisable to call ahead. Inquire about directions, specifically concerning the approach on W Club Deluxe Road, and clarify how to locate your site, especially if you anticipate a late or rainy arrival. Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

Singh RV & Campground offers a specific suitability for locals in the Louisiana region, particularly those in or around Hammond, primarily as a practical, no-frills option for short-term or emergency RV needs. While reviews indicate areas for improvement, its core functionality and location make it relevant for certain local scenarios.

Firstly, for Louisiana residents who own an RV and require a convenient, immediate overnight stop due to travel plans, unexpected mechanical issues, or simply a quick layover near the interstate, Singh RV & Campground serves that basic purpose. Its direct proximity to I-55 means minimal deviation from a travel route, which is crucial for maximizing efficiency and reducing travel time. For locals living in the area who might need temporary RV parking for events, family visits, or even during home renovations, the availability of full hookup pull-thru sites offers a pragmatic solution for self-contained units.

Secondly, the positive feedback regarding the friendly and accommodating phone staff is a significant factor in its suitability. For locals who might be in a bind or simply need quick, clear information, responsive and professional assistance over the phone can greatly alleviate stress. Knowing that you can call ahead, get an assigned site, and even make payment remotely provides a level of convenience that is valuable, especially when dealing with unforeseen travel circumstances or arriving outside of typical office hours.

While the reviews highlight issues with infrastructure like unlit, poorly maintained roads and muddy sites, acknowledging these upfront allows locals to set appropriate expectations. For those who prioritize location and basic utility hookups over extensive amenities or pristine conditions, and especially for self-sufficient RVers who largely use their own facilities, Singh RV & Campground offers a functional and accessible "just-for-the-night" solution. It may not be a destination campground for a week-long vacation, but for a local needing a convenient, functional, and promptly accessible stop in the Hammond area, it can certainly suffice.

Updating this to clarify my comments, which upset the owners. I wish I could give this RV park a better review, but wow - it’s really in bad shape. When we booked it was because of its close proximity to the Interstate. I saw the low ratings, but we just needed a pull-thru site for overnight. It was acceptable for just one night. From the looks of the sign in the park, this was once a KOA Kampground, but it must have failed to live up to KOA standards. My interactions with staff over the phone were good, and the person I spoke with was friendly & polite. We were delayed on our arrival due to a mechanical problem that took us off the road for three hours. I called to let the office know and she was accommodating. She took payment over the phone and messaged me a copy of the campground map and assigned us to site number 1. We appreciated her assistance. We had no interactions with other staff, but I can say the office person was responsive and professional. Driving after dark is something we rarely do, especially when it rainy and windy, but we needed to stay on schedule so we pressed on. We arrived at about 7PM - but the road it’s on is very narrow and isn’t well lit. We had the map, but it wasn’t easy to see how to get to our site so we ended up driving around the park until we finally located our site. There is no lighting and the roads are in terrible shape - potholes & large cracks where there is asphalt, but mostly they were a mix of mud and gravel. There had been a huge downpour of rain, which filled all the potholes and the campsites themselves were muddy. They seriously need some major work - the roads need paving and potholes repaired so they don’t fill with water or shake rigs driving through. The campsites also need work - if they were graveled and the grass was mowed they wouldn’t be so muddy. Our site had FHU with 50A - we used an adapter for our 30A rig. There is a small cement pad for a table, but there are no picnic tables and no fire pits. The sites are so close together, rigs are packed in like sardines. It appears there are only 5 sites not occupied by full-time residents or long-term campers working in the area. The remaining sites for overnight campers are located next to the fence along W Club Road and it was a bit noisy. There is a pool we assume is open in season. It was fenced in and covered. There is a fenced playground, but it was like a swamp. They obviously need to improve drainage. There were no pet waste stations anywhere. We didn’t check out the bathrooms or laundry. The office was closed. It was late and we were tired, so we decided to go out for dinner, but didn’t want to disconnect our TOAD. We wanted to walk to the brewpub next door to the campground, but the narrow road was dark and unlit, so we didn’t feel it was safe at night. They should install a gate so campers can walk next door safely. Ee ended up ordering food from Door Dash. If you need a place to stay for the night, this will suffice but I wouldn’t stay any longer. I apologize if the owner and staff are offended, but over the past three months we have camped in over 40 campgrounds across the U.S., and this was the second worse of them all. This campground could be improved greatly if they would pave the roads, gravel the campsites, and install some signage and lighting. It’s obviously been neglected for years and the current owners do not appear to be correcting the problems.

4 managers within a 3 year span.. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Owners have no clue how to actually have or run a campground. They definitely do not appreciate or know how to treat their employees. I got Smart and left there to go manage a nearby actual Campground not a trailer park in Springfield 10 mins from their. Singh could actually be a Great campground with the right owners and change the name and and a total remodel.

Great Park!!! The new owners are so nice. They made me feel welcome as soon as I walked into the office. They even took us to our campsite. Park is very clean with wildlife everywhere (which I love). They have pull through spots and back in spots next to the water. We've been here for 4 days, and I'm sad to be leaving tomorrow. Definitely recommend this park!

This campground has easy access on and off Interstate 20. The manager on duty was very helpful. He quickly returned to the office when we arrived after hours. He showed us to our campsite and even quickly repaired the electric connection when it would not work with our plug. The campground is quiet even though it is at the edge of a large town. The majority of the campers are long-term so there is a lot of stuff around many trailers. It was a good place for a one night stay while traveling.

Easy location from highway. Stayed one night just as a stop over. There was some confusion about reservations but staff was friendly and resolved quickly. Sites need better care, but overall we would stop again if traveling through. Great restaurant next door! You should add a gate access to their parking lot. Stay warm and take care.
