Daily Entrance Fee: There is a per-person daily entrance fee of typically $4 for individuals aged 13 and older to enter Possum Kingdom State Park. Children 12 and under are admitted free. This fee is separate from campsite reservation costs.
Campsite Fees: Lakeview Campground sites with water hookups are generally priced around $12 per night. Fees for sites with electric and water hookups (found in other loops like Spanish Oaks or Shady Grove) are higher, usually around $20 per night, and primitive sites are less. Cabin rentals are also available at different price points.
Texas State Parks Pass: For frequent visitors to Texas State Parks, investing in a Texas State Parks Pass is highly recommended. This annual pass offers unlimited free entry to more than 80 Texas State Parks for the pass holder and accompanying guests (up to 15 people in the same vehicle) for one year. Clean bathrooms, showers and camp spots. The small store has lots of essentials (s’mores, charcoal, utensils, condiments, otc meds and fun kids stuff. Good food and on the go stuff (burgers, fries, fried pickles, fountain drinks, ice cream, real ice cream, ice, firewood). Great for fishing, boat rental, kayak, paddle board etc. Shade is limited so plan ahead for over 90 degrees. Everyone is friendly and can’t beat the sunsets. Dog friendly!
This is a small but beautiful park and campground, very well maintained and clean. Large campsites, picnic area on the lake and a very nice boat ramp.
