This is an average campground. Not the worst I've ever been to but also not the best. The owner was super friendly very hospitable. She even came over to us while setting up camp to make sure we were settling in nicely. Also the firewood is self serve all night and they use the honors system, which was nice because we didn't have to worry about running out of wood in the middle of the night. The bathrooms were nice each was a single with a toilet and shower. They were clean and smelled pleasant however, they were not heated so we opted out of showers since we went in mid October when it was cold. If we went on a busier weekend I would probably be giving this place a much lower rating as I don't know where we would have set up camp. The campsites are very small. We were taking up 2 if not 3 campsites as realistically we would not have been able to fit our 2 small tents on one site with a vehicle that was a safe distance from the fire ring. Basically we set up camp on one site and used the fire ring on the campsite behind us. It looks very kid friendly with playgrounds and a pool in the summer. The sites on the outside of the park looked to be decent size for small campers and tents. I would not recommend a site in the middle of the park (this is where we were) unless you are a couple or single individual with one small tent. Also if your site does not have water bring your own as there is not a community area to fill up water for drinking and cooking. Luckily the park wasn't busy so we went to another site to get water.

We camped via tent which was a little muddy but also expected. We stayed at campsite 55 near the back and one of the days it rained some much we had our own waterfall by the creek which was awesome. Our campsite was huge with lots of space. Campground gets busy during weekend with 4 working bathrooms so you have to be strategic with planning your bathroom use, we took our showers late at night and had no issues, however 8-9 am is a busy bathroom time so plan accordingly. The campground has firewood for purchase, a pool, volleyball net, and small playground. One of the down sides of the big campsite in the back is the background sounds of the expressway behind the campground which seemed louder at night probably because it was so quiet. Have a fan or something for white noise and you should be fine. Great price! We enjoyed our stay and seen all the beauty Hocking Hills had to offer.

We really enjoyed our 1st experience at this simple but cozy campground. I'm so familiar with bigger state park ran campground so I was unsure of how it would go with a smaller family owned campground. Unfortunately it had rained quite a bit before we had arrived and that is completely out of the owners control. When we arrived we were told that our campsite was submerged in water but they did not hesitate to find us another location to set up for the night. (I wouldn't expect this at a state park campground because it's usually a get what you get situation) It was a very small corner that didn't really look like a campsite but luckily it was just the 2 of us and we are pretty flexible people. They even found us a fire ring and brought it over. It definitely added to our adventure and they even let us use the electric box next to it even though we had a primitive site originally. The lady was working super hard to accommodate the requests of every person on the campground. It seemed like she was the only staff onsite and she was a very patient lady. We would like to come back for the customer service alone. Thank you for the memories!

Stayed over Father’s Day weekend with my friend. Very easy check in as well, the staff was incredibly nice! We enjoyed our time here, honestly the bathrooms were the cleanest and nicest bathrooms I’ve ever seen at a campsite. Don’t post about how there’s bugs in them — it’s the great outdoors, that’s to be expected! We were disappointed to find out when we asked the staff that this campground doesn’t have a drinking water pump, it was the first place we’ve been to that doesn’t have a pump, so make sure you bring plenty of water with you. It was also pretty expensive and in my experience it’s not because it’s a tourist area — I camped at Mackinaw Island in Michigan for 5 nights for the same price we paid for two nights here. All in all, we enjoyed it. It’s definitely a campsite to introduce your kids or family to camping before getting to a real camping experience.

Nice & quiet little campground, the staff is very friendly & helpful. Sites are a bit smaller than we’re used to but it’s plenty room for two to three people. They’re dog friendly which is a big bonus, the only downfalls are the shower heads are a bit short. I’m 6’2” & they measure up to about 5’5”, also the fire pits are fairly small & not really seated in the dirt. But it’s otherwise a great campground, the nightly cost is also very affordable
