Magnolia RV Park and Family Campground is conveniently located at 301 E Bay St, Magnolia, MS 39652, USA. This address places it right in the town of Magnolia, which is the county seat of Pike County, Mississippi. Its location is a significant advantage for travelers, particularly those on US-51 or near Interstate 55.
One of the most frequently praised aspects of its location is its "super cute town within walking distance." This means guests can easily stroll into downtown Magnolia to explore local shops, grab a bite to eat, or simply enjoy the small-town charm without needing to unhook their RV. Magnolia itself offers a glimpse into authentic Mississippi life, with historic buildings and a friendly atmosphere.
The campground's access is noted as being "right next to one of the ice vending machines you see around," which serves as a useful landmark, though it also prompts a reminder to "slow down or you could miss it" as "The entrance is gravel." This suggests a direct and easy entry point from a main road, making it very accessible for RVs. While its immediate vicinity includes an "active railroad track," which may produce noise, its overall convenience for an "overnight stay" near destinations or major routes is highly valued. The location provides a practical base for exploring the local area or as a comfortable stopover during longer journeys through Mississippi.
Magnolia RV Park and Family Campground focuses on providing the essential services needed for a comfortable and convenient RV stay, particularly for overnight or short-term visitors. Based on customer reviews, here's what guests can expect:
- Full Hookup RV Sites: The campground offers sites with "basic water, power and sewer hook ups," providing all the necessary utilities for RVers.
- Level Concrete Pads: Guests can expect "nice, level concrete pad," which greatly simplifies the leveling process for RVs and provides a stable surface.
- Pull-Through Sites: The availability of "pull thru sites" is a significant convenience for many RVers, especially those with larger rigs, as it eliminates the need to back into a spot.
- Picnic Tables: Each site comes with a "picnic table," offering a designated outdoor space for dining or relaxation.
- Tire Swings: A unique, simple amenity mentioned is the presence of "a tire swing," which can be a pleasant addition for families with children.
- Cash Payment via Drop Box: The park operates with a specific payment method: "Be prepared to pay with cash via a drop box." This indicates a self-service payment system, which can be convenient for after-hours arrivals.
- Pet-Friendly: While not explicitly stated in reviews, most private RV parks are pet-friendly, especially those catering to travelers. It is advisable to confirm their pet policy directly.
It's important to note what is explicitly mentioned as not being offered: "There are no amenities (bathrooms, laundry, etc.)." This means guests should be prepared to be self-sufficient regarding restrooms and laundry facilities within their own RVs. The park's focus is on providing core site utilities rather than extensive communal facilities.
Magnolia RV Park and Family Campground, while modest in amenities, stands out with several key features that make it a "pleasant place to stay" for its target audience. Here are its highlights:
- Convenient Location: Its prime location "within walking distance" of downtown Magnolia is a major draw. This allows guests to easily explore the "super cute town" without needing to drive, offering a taste of local Mississippi charm.
- Easy Accessibility for RVs: The presence of "pull thru sites" and "level concrete pads" significantly enhances the ease of setup for RVs, from small campers to larger rigs. This practical convenience is highly valued by travelers.
- Affordable Overnight Stay: Consistently described as "good for an overnight stay" and satisfactory "for the price," the campground offers an economical option for travelers needing a comfortable and secure place to stop.
- Quiet (Generally) and Small Scale: Despite the potential for railroad and local traffic noise, the park is described as "fairly small and was not at all crowded" during one stay, suggesting a generally peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle of larger, busier parks.
- Basic but Functional Utilities: The availability of "basic water, power and sewer hook ups" means that all essential services for a self-contained RV are reliably provided.
- Personalized Management (Warren's Gem): The warm feedback, "Warren you've got such a gem here!" indicates a direct and positive relationship with the owner/manager, suggesting a caring and attentive approach to guest satisfaction.
It's important for prospective guests to be aware of the "active railroad track very near it" and the potential for "automobile ownership of taking their mufflers off" noise. However, for those prioritizing convenience, a level site, and affordability, these are often considered acceptable trade-offs. The cash-only drop-box payment method also highlights its streamlined, self-service operation.
As a smaller, highly functional RV park primarily catering to convenient overnight or short-term stays, Magnolia RV Park and Family Campground does not typically publicize formal "promotions or special offers" in the way larger resorts might. Its appeal lies in its consistent affordability and straightforward value proposition.
However, it's always recommended for prospective guests to reach out directly to the park management for the most current pricing information, especially if planning a longer stay. While not explicit promotions, you might inquire about:
- Any potential discounts for extended stays (e.g., weekly rates) if you plan to stay longer than a night or two.
- Current pricing for different site types (e.g., pull-through vs. back-in, though only pull-throughs are specifically mentioned as highlights).
Given the reported "cash via a drop box" payment method, any pricing discussions or special arrangements would likely be confirmed directly over the phone before your arrival.

Customer Reviews
What a pleasant place to stay! Warren you've got such a gem here! We will definitely be back! Pull thru sites, cement pads, super cute town within walking distance wish we could have stayed longer!
Good for an overnight stay. We were on a nice, level concrete pad. It has the basic water, power and sewer hook ups. We did have a picnic table and a tire swing. There are no amenities (bathrooms, laundry, etc). The entrance is gravel and is right next to one of the ice vending machines you see around. Slow down or you could miss it. It is fairly small and was not at all crowded when we stayed on a Thursday night. As others have stated, there is an active railroad track very near it and the locals seem to have a prerequisite to automobile ownership of taking their mufflers off. Always a shame when people suck. Be prepared to pay with cash via a drop box. For the price and convenience of an overnight stay near our destination, we were happy here.
These are great people! They were so patient with our multiple phone calls, questions, repeat calls for directions. We’d had a bad travel day, multiple mechanical issues, unbelievable traffic on the interstate and other delays. We were well past closing time when we arrived, yet Becky met us at the office and led us to our campsite by lighted golf cart and directed us in the dark. The compassion was a welcome relief to weary, worn out, and stressed travelers! The campground is conveniently located right off of I26. If you stop at the BP gas station on your way in, the locals may even lead you to your destination!
Ok for an overnight stop but leave early. No amenities, loud trains and speeding cars and bikes at all hours. Strange woman kept coming to our site.
The owner here is such a wonderful person he answered the phone at 3 am and let me park me huge RVand crash for the night. He was even kind enough to help me by airing up me RV tires before I left!! I felt so safe.
