It caters to the specific needs of large groups, blending the tranquility of a state park setting with the practical amenities required for comfortable multi-person accommodation and shared activities. While one reviewer celebrated its "fantastic setting for large groups" and amenities like a "large outdoor pavilion" and "separate cafeteria," another reviewer did highlight some areas for improvement regarding facilities, mentioning "squeaky" bunks, "inadequate ventilation," and a "loud smell, like mildew" in the huts, though commending the "great" AC. This candid feedback points to a facility with great potential for fostering group experiences, while also suggesting that prospective users should inquire about recent updates and maintenance efforts. It's a place designed for creating shared memories amidst Mississippi's natural beauty.

The Percy E Quin State Park Group Camp offers a unique set of features and highlights that make it particularly well-suited for large gatherings and group retreats in Mississippi.

- Comprehensive Dining Facilities: The presence of a "separate cafeteria" is a significant highlight, simplifying meal planning and preparation for large groups. This eliminates the need for extensive individual cooking arrangements.
- Spacious Outdoor Gathering Areas: A "large outdoor pavilion" offers a versatile covered space for activities, meetings, or communal dining, regardless of weather conditions. Additionally, "two regulation ballfields" provide ample room for sports and outdoor games.
- Scenic Lake Views: The camp boasts a "great view of Lake Tangipahoa," offering picturesque scenery and a serene backdrop for group activities and relaxation.
- Access to Extensive Park Activities: Group Camp guests have access to the broad range of amenities and recreational opportunities within Percy E Quin State Park. While a past review noted some issues with ventilation, smell, and squeaky bunks in the huts, and uneven sidewalks, it also praised the functionality of the A/C. Prospective groups are encouraged to inquire about any recent renovations or updates to ensure the facilities meet their comfort expectations. Overall, the camp's design and natural setting provide a strong foundation for a memorable group experience.
Specific, publicly advertised promotions or special offers solely for the Percy E Quin State Park Group Camp are not consistently available in the same way individual campsites or cabins might have seasonal discounts. However, state parks, including Percy E Quin, often have a structured pricing system and offer certain benefits that can amount to savings for groups or individuals.
For Mississippi State Parks in general, and likely applicable to group camp bookings, consider these potential "offers" or advantageous policies:
- Advance Booking: Group Camps are highly sought after, especially during peak seasons or holidays. Booking well in advance (reservations can be made up to 12 months ahead) ensures availability for your preferred dates, which is a form of value in itself by securing your spot.
- Bundle Pricing: The Group Camp facilities are typically rented as a comprehensive package, often including accommodation and sometimes meal services for groups meeting a minimum size. This bundled approach can be more cost-effective than arranging separate accommodations and catering.
- Discounts for Specific Groups: While not always explicitly advertised, sometimes state parks offer special rates for educational institutions, non-profit organizations, or large youth groups. It's always worth inquiring if your specific group qualifies for any special pricing.
- Off-Season Rates: While details for the Group Camp are not specific, individual campsites and lodging within state parks often have lower rates during the off-peak seasons (e.g., winter months outside of holidays). It's possible the Group Camp may have similar pricing variations based on demand.
- Access to Extensive Amenities: While not a discount, the comprehensive range of activities and amenities included with park entry (or accessible with a nominal fee) – such as lake access, trails, playgrounds, and sports fields – adds significant value to the Group Camp experience.
To get the most accurate information on pricing, availability, and any potential group-specific offers, it is essential to contact the Percy E Quin State Park office directly. Their staff can provide detailed quotes and discuss how to best accommodate your group's needs and budget.

Customer Reviews
Spent the week of Thanksgiving here with the family. It's a fantastic setting for large groups with eight separate group huts, and each hut can sleep up to 14 people. Also a large outdoor pavilion, separate cafeteria, and great view of Lake Tangipahoa.
You'll think you're in somebody's jail; Bunks/racks squeaky, inadequate ventilation, floors stay wet from shower steam, huts have a loud smell, like mildew, uneven sidewalks (be careful walking at night). One star is for the A/C, which works great.
