The park is situated within a reasonable distance from major cities like Nashville (approximately 1.5 to 2 hours), Chattanooga (around 1.5 hours), and even Huntsville, Alabama (just over an hour), making it an accessible and attractive option for a quick weekend or a longer, restorative trip.

It's important for prospective campers to understand that Spann House is a backcountry campsite, meaning it is not directly accessible by vehicle. Super nice place to stay the night. It is about a half mile to the bathroom/road, but it is so nice to be out of the normal camping area (nothing wrong with the normal camping area). Fire ring grill was too messed up to raise/lower or be level. Great staff and great park. As always, check for ticks.
