Oak Grove is not about an "elite" or overly extravagant lifestyle; instead, it's about embracing "Florida at its best & most relaxing." This article will delve into what makes Oak Grove such a suitable and desirable place for Floridians to call home.

Oak Grove Mobile Home Park is ideally situated at 1800 Englewood Rd, Englewood, FL 34223, USA. This location places it firmly within Englewood, a delightful coastal town in Southwest Florida renowned for its laid-back charm and stunning natural beauty. Englewood Road (also known as State Road 776) is a significant artery, providing residents with excellent accessibility to a wide array of local amenities and regional attractions.

One of the most appealing aspects of Oak Grove's location is its incredible proximity to the beautiful beaches of Manasota Key. As residents happily note, the park is "so close to Manasota beach, that you can ride your bike there." This makes spontaneous beach trips for sunbathing, swimming, or the famous "shark's teeth" hunting an effortless and regular occurrence. Beyond Manasota Beach, there are "3 other beaches every 4 miles on Manasota Key," offering abundant choices for coastal recreation.

Beyond the beaches, Oak Grove's location ensures easy access to Englewood's vibrant local scene. This includes grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, and charming shops. The historic Dearborn Street, known for its unique boutiques, art scene, and community events, is also a short drive away, offering cultural and entertainment options without the heavy traffic often found in larger Florida cities. The area itself benefits from less congestion compared to major metropolitan hubs, contributing to a more relaxed and enjoyable daily life. This blend of convenience and natural beauty makes Oak Grove an exceptionally well-located and desirable place for Floridians looking for an accessible and serene retirement community.

Services Offered:

  • Resident-Owned Park: A key distinction is that Oak Grove is a resident-owned community. This means that residents collectively own shares in the park, which can lead to lower monthly fees, greater control over community decisions, and a strong sense of collective ownership and responsibility.
  • Community Pool: A well-maintained swimming pool is available for residents, offering a refreshing way to cool off and socialize in the Florida sunshine.
  • Clubhouse: The clubhouse serves as the central hub for social activities, providing a comfortable space for gatherings, games, and events.
  • Shuffleboard Courts: Dedicated courts are available for residents to enjoy this classic Florida pastime, promoting friendly competition and outdoor activity.
  • Planned Social Activities: The park actively organizes social events such as cards or billiards in the clubhouse in the evenings, dances a few times a year, and a park picnic with an auction, fostering a vibrant community life.
  • Basic Utilities & Maintenance (implied by typical resident-owned parks): While not explicitly detailed, resident-owned parks typically include certain shared utility costs and common area maintenance as part of their affordable monthly fees, contributing to a hassle-free lifestyle.
  • Mobile Home Repair Assistance (Indirectly via recommendation): A positive review highlighted "Affordable Mobile Home services" as being reliable for repairs after hurricanes, suggesting that there is a network of trusted local services familiar with the park, which indirectly serves the residents.

Features / Highlights:

  • Friendly Community: The park is consistently described as "friendly," emphasizing a welcoming and close-knit atmosphere where neighbors interact and support each other.
  • Affordable Living: Being a resident-owned park often translates to "affordable" living, with reasonable fees compared to other types of communities, making it an excellent value.
  • Quiet and Homey Atmosphere: Oak Grove offers an "easy lifestyle" that is "nothing elite, just homey," appealing to those seeking tranquility and a comfortable, unpretentious environment.
  • Proximity to Beaches: Its location is a major highlight, allowing residents to "ride your bike" to Manasota Beach and access "3 other beaches every 4 miles on Manasota Key," renowned for fossilized shark's teeth.
  • Social Amenities: The presence of a pool, clubhouse, shuffleboard courts, and activities like cards, billiards, dances, and picnics ensures ample opportunities for recreation and social engagement within the park.
  • Englewood Charm: Situated in Englewood, residents benefit from a less congested traffic environment compared to larger cities, as well as access to the town's charming atmosphere, local shops, restaurants, and Dearborn Street.
  • Relaxing Florida Experience: The overall ambiance promotes "Florida at its best & most relaxing," offering a true escape from the stresses of everyday life.
  • Resident Ownership Benefits: The co-op structure can provide stability and a sense of shared responsibility, as residents collectively manage and maintain their community.

As a resident-owned mobile home park, Oak Grove's "promotions or special offers" are typically found in the form of its inherently affordable monthly fees and the value derived from resident ownership. This model often results in more stable and lower costs compared to profit-driven, corporate-owned parks. Prospective residents should inquire directly about the current share price (if applicable for a co-op share purchase) and the monthly maintenance fees, which are generally considered "very reasonable," providing an ongoing "special offer" in terms of cost-effective living.

Any specific incentives would likely come from individual home sellers within the park rather than a park-wide promotion. However, the collective ownership structure itself is often seen as a significant long-term benefit, providing financial stability and a voice in community decisions, which many residents consider a valuable "offer." It is always best to contact the park office directly for the most current information regarding available homes for sale and the details of their resident-owned model and associated costs.

Small friendly resident owned mobile home Park. Pool, clubhouse, shuffle board, cards or billiards in the clubhouse in the evenings are a few things to do. Also dances a few times a year and a Park picnic with auction. Just an easy lifestyle, nothing elite, just homey. So close to Manasota beach, that you can ride your bike there. If driving is your thing, there are 3 other beaches every 4 miles on Manasota Key. Don't forget to look for shark's teeth at the beach (don't worry, their thousands of years old). Florida at it's best & most relaxing.

We love the Oak Grove Park in Englewood. Our neighbors are always friendly, the staff is very helpful, and it is a good location for us. It feels like a 20 minute walk turns into a one hour sojourn because everyone wants to talk as we pass. And almost everyone uses a 3-wheel trike to parade around whenever possible, especially to drive to the pool or to go cruising the neighborhood just before dusk. I never thought I'd enjoy riding a trike! There's a delightful breeze every, afternoon about 4:00 that cools the park down because it is so close to the ocean. We are struggling now, post-Hurricane Ian. Our place is fine but much of the park and the beautiful trees have been destroyed.

Visited a family member. Friendly and neighborly atmosphere (welcoming). A fun place to be. Yet peaceful and quiet. Yards all looked nice. As far as a few stops signs, as another mentioned by another reviewer, are basically there to keep speed and safety in check.
