The lake itself is nothing special, but if you take the time to look for it, there is a set of waterfalls that come out of the lake near the dam that are absolutely spectacular when flowing. I was blown away by how large they were and it was definitely worth checking out. I did encounter about a dozen water snakes (possibly cottonmouths) so watch out for those if you go but other than that, I would highly recommend checking out these falls.
May 07, 2024 · Brett JacksonWe camped in the picnic area. There was no restroom, but there was no charge.
Apr 17, 2025 · Bob PattonDrove over 400 miles and as soon as we got here, we disturbed a bald-faced hornets nest. They attacked our van and left pheromones on the back window. We couldn't get out of the van and they followed us for miles back and forth, so we had to just leave and sleep at Walmart because it got dark.
