One of the most compelling reasons is its prime oceanfront location with direct beach access. Just wrapped up a groovy stay at Carolina Shores RV Resort, and I’m already plotting my return! 🚌✨ We snagged Spot 847 on Sea Beggars Lane (but hey, no hogging it now—it’s a gem!) with plenty of room to set up our hippie campsite, complete with tapestries waving in the salty breeze and crab lines in the water. 🐚🕸️ The lots are super spacious and clean, with some nice shady spots to hide from the sun when needed. Access to the beach is a total win—just a short hop away. 🏖️ Bathrooms? Oh, they’re sparkly clean—though a heads-up: we did get some bleach spots on a few clothes. Guess that’s the price for squeaky clean! 🧼👕 Shoutout to the staff for letting us in after hours—after a day of epic car drama, we rolled in late and they still welcomed us with a smile. 🙌 Tons of fun amenities, but my absolute fave was the late evening golf cart cruise—sunset on the move, baby! 🚙🌅 Thanks, Carolina Shores, for the memories. Can’t wait to come back for more tapestries, crab lines, and golf cart magic! 🎡🌙
Jun 09, 2025 · Leslie TerrellGreat spot for a family vacation. The site was wide enough to accommodate ours needs. We had a concrete pad which was great when it rained one afternoon. The location is still transitioning to Carolina shores from pirate land. Roads are a little narrow but newly paved. They added a dog park while we were there. Clearly improvements and additions are being made. Price was reasonable, hopefully that stays the same next year too!
Apr 26, 2025 · Jason SchusslerGreat amenities within the park. Only downside is that people who take the reservations need to know more about the sites they assign. We were 37 feet and the site was 36. We squeezed in but took us almost 2 hours to get off site. The annual site across from us had cars parked almost to the road and no one was home to move autos. We had to remove the slide plates on our hitch so we could jostle the rig around. Several staff members rode by and never offered assistance. Also resort needs to monitor loudness of music. We could not listen to our stereo due another annual site playing super loud music all day on top of some custom cart stereos playing theirs. Hopefully since they are just getting going they can address the issues..
Jun 01, 2025 · Tracy Rikard-CheshireWe had a mishap where I locked a site but then called and added a night and requested to keep the same site but arrived to find we had been moved to another site. It was a bit disappointing but they did allow us to choose another site which worked out well for us. The freshly paved roads and new landscaping they added in the entry area are fantastic. The new shelters they are building on the oceanfront sites look great too! It is a little chaotic upon arrival - with the location of the office there really is nowhere for multiple campers to pull over for check in especially if the parking spots are already claimed by vehicles. Maybe this will be changing in the future. The hours of the pool and lazy river (10-6) seemed short and we found ourselves wishing every day they were open a little later. And one issue we noticed was no dumpster to take your trash to. It’s convenient that they pick it up at your campsite around 9am every day but it seemed campers that checked out at 11 missed trash pick up and left their trash at their site to sit overnight and get torn apart by birds. Overall we loved the experience and can’t wait to see what changes are made when we return next year! We booked and locked a site again and hopefully we get the site we locked 🤞.
Apr 26, 2025 · Sarah LukerWe are just finishing up a great stay at Carolina Shores RV Resort (formerly Pirateland), and we were really pleased with the experience. We’ve stayed at Pirateland several times in the past, and the transition to Carolina Shores has been smooth—no issues at all. Our site was in great shape, and the lazy river and pool were both in excellent condition. The bathhouses were very clean, and the newly paved roads between campsites were a great upgrade. While the general store wasn’t as fully stocked as usual, we understand that some things are still being worked out during the transition. One area that could use a little attention is general property maintenance—just a bit of polish here and there would go a long way. That said, it still feels like the place we know and love, and we’ll definitely be back!
