Finding the right RV park that meets your immediate needs, especially when working or traveling through, can be a challenge. While every RV park offers a unique experience, Hoofers RV Park in LaGrange, Georgia, positions itself as a pragmatic option for those prioritizing location and essential amenities. Situated in a spot that offers quick access to local conveniences, it caters to RVers who need a no-frills, straightforward place to rest their wheels.
Hoofers RV Park aims to provide a functional base for RVers, particularly those on the go for work or extended periods. It understands that sometimes, the most important factors are proximity to job sites, easy access to necessities, and basic on-site facilities. While not a luxury resort, it offers a pragmatic solution for those who are focused on their work or who value convenience above all else. For many who spend weeks or months on the road for commercial contracts, a park that offers proximity to their work site and allows for a hassle-free, long-term stay becomes invaluable.
This park is designed for the traveler who needs a spot to park, do laundry, and be close to local amenities. If you're a long-term RVer with a busy schedule, or simply passing through LaGrange and need a functional stopover, understanding what Hoofers RV Park offers is key to deciding if it's the right fit for your journey.
Hoofers RV Park is located at 3472 Hogansville Rd, LaGrange, GA 30241, USA. This address places it in LaGrange, a city in Troup County, Georgia, known for its blend of historical charm and modern amenities. For Georgians, LaGrange is conveniently situated in the western part of the state, making it an accessible point for those traveling within Georgia or to/from neighboring states like Alabama.
One of the most significant advantages of Hoofers RV Park’s location is its proximity to the local mall, being less than five minutes away. This makes shopping, dining, and accessing various services incredibly convenient for residents and visitors. For those who prioritize quick access to everyday necessities or a variety of food options after a long day, this feature is a definite plus. Being close to such amenities minimizes travel time and maximizes convenience, a valuable aspect for busy individuals or families on the road.
While the park's convenient location to local commerce is a highlight, it's also important to note its immediate surroundings. The park is situated next to active train tracks, which means train horns can be heard throughout the day and night. For travelers accustomed to urban or semi-urban environments, this might be a familiar background noise. Furthermore, its placement in a more industrial or mixed-use area of LaGrange means the immediate visual aesthetic might differ from more secluded, nature-focused campgrounds. However, for those focused on being near a job site or having quick access to local hubs, this location is precisely what makes Hoofers RV Park a practical option.
Hoofers RV Park provides a selection of fundamental services aimed at making long-term or transient RV stays as convenient as possible for its guests. These services focus on practicality and meeting basic needs for RVers.
- RV Site Hookups: The park offers spaces for RVs, presumably with essential hookups such as electricity, water, and sewer connections to facilitate comfortable living for both short and extended periods. While specific amp service details aren't provided, standard connections are typically available.
- On-site Laundry Facilities: A significant convenience highlighted by past visitors is the presence of on-site laundry facilities. This is an invaluable amenity for RVers, especially those on long journeys or living in their rigs for work, as it eliminates the need to seek off-site laundromats.
- Proximity to Local Amenities: Although not a direct "service" provided by the park itself, its strategic location less than five minutes from the local mall and other commercial establishments acts as an indirect service, providing easy access to shopping, dining, and other necessities.
- Long-Term Stay Options: The park appears to cater significantly to long-term residents, particularly those who are working in the area. This makes it a suitable option for commercial contractors and others needing extended accommodation.
Hoofers RV Park, while not a luxury resort, offers specific features that can be highly beneficial for certain types of RVers, particularly those who prioritize location and essential functionalities over resort-style amenities.
- Exceptional Convenience to Local Mall: As a major highlight, the park's location, less than five minutes from the local mall, provides unparalleled convenience for shopping, dining, and accessing various services. This is a significant advantage for daily needs.
- Valuable On-site Laundry Facilities: The availability of well-maintained laundry facilities on-site is a huge plus for all RVers, especially those on extended trips or living full-time in their RVs. It offers a practical solution for a common necessity.
- Adaptability for Long-Term Stays: The park's ability to accommodate long-term residents makes it highly suitable for individuals or teams working on commercial contracts in the LaGrange area. For these individuals, the park serves as a pragmatic and cost-effective home base for weeks or even months.
- Cost-Effectiveness: While not explicitly stated as a feature, the park's overall positioning suggests it offers a more budget-friendly option compared to higher-end resorts. For RVers who are working and want to manage expenses, this can be a key benefit. As some reviews mention "you get what you pay for," it implies a lower cost point.
- On-site Church: The presence of a church attached to the front office might appeal to some visitors, offering a convenient spiritual resource for those who wish to attend services.
It is important for potential visitors to be aware of certain aspects based on common feedback, to manage expectations. The park's immediate vicinity to train tracks means frequent train horns, which can be a significant factor for light sleepers. Additionally, while the park provides essential functions, the general aesthetic and layout might be more utilitarian, catering to practicality over pristine landscaping. Understanding these aspects helps travelers determine if the park aligns with their personal preferences for an RV stay.
Information regarding specific, ongoing promotions or special offers at Hoofers RV Park is not publicly detailed. Like many privately owned RV parks, pricing and any discounts for extended stays are typically handled directly by management. Given its apparent focus on accommodating long-term residents and commercial contractors, it is highly probable that Hoofers RV Park offers competitive rates for weekly or monthly stays.
For individuals or companies looking to book an RV spot for an extended period, it is always recommended to contact the park directly. They can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information on current availability, pricing structures, and any potential long-term discounts that might be available. Customer Reviews
I would not stay here again. If you’re traveling through Atlanta, it’d be better to go out of your way to find another campground. 1.) the signage makes it very confusing on where the entrance is, and if you’re in a long rig, it will be very annoying to move around. 2.) there are train tracks literally right next to the campground, and you will hear horns all through the night. 3.) this place just looks sketchy and trashy. I did not feel safe. There’s junk cars and trash all over the place. I’m not sure why they bothered asking the year of our camper when there are dilapidated campers all over this lot. Michelle on the phone was nice, but based off the website, I feel very misled. I should’ve paid closer attention to the other reviews that were left. I know other reviews have said you get what you pay for, but I’ve stayed at plenty of low cost campgrounds. We live in our set up following my husband’s work. And this is, by far, the worst place we’ve stayed at.
The two best things about this place is less than 5 mins from the mall and the on-site laundry facilities. If you really want to know your neighbors, like drama and don’t mind horn alarms at 6am and trash dump pickup at 5am and love trains, this is the place for you. Look at google maps of park and RR tracks, ALL thru the night with horns. The owner believes in quantity and not quality of lot size and I now understand why other parks ask for year of camper. I understand everyone needs a place to live, but there needs to be rules and enforced. We left suppose to be a week, took our camper , let the office know of our plans. Our plans changed and after a 3 days had to come back only to find someone had parked their truck in our space and we had to track them down and wait 2 hours for them to arrive to move their truck. Before our final pull out, we told the neighbors we were pulling out in morning and asked them to move their trailer. So the roads are used as parking spaces and you have to prepare to pull out. They didn’t. Luckily another route opened. We spend 42 weeks a year in our RV, travel the country , commercial contractors, doing this for 16 years, worst park we have encountered. Right at 16 weeks here, just because location to our job site and we working 16 hour days. You get what you pay for. Oh did I mention the ants? OM gosh, invasion in both trucks and camper. Now if you are a church goer, the front office has a church attached. Nothing wrong with church, don’t prepare to sleep in or work night shift , thumping at 930 am and congregation parking adds to the auto parking catastrophe. Now I cannot deny or confirm of illegal activity, but suspicions are there as well as weekly local police enforcement . Good luck if you stay here.
At $30 a night, this place is the RV park equivalent to fast food. If I want steak and lobster, I'll pay $65 for KOA. But for our one-night stay, we can't complain too much. Are the spots a little tight? Yes. Is it by the train tracks? Yes. But the manager called us back within minutes and also texted to confirm which sites were available. The hose lines were insulated/heated in November, and the place has amenities. I've stayed in parking lots that cost more than this.
The young lady running the place is professional and nice, not to mention pretty This rv park is perfect for the working class
It is difficult to rate this RV park. The receptionist (if you can find your way to the office) was super friendly and it was nice to see somewhat solid Christian books and literature in the onsite church lobby. The RV site we stayed at was not well maintained, with some garbage left on the ground next to the hookup area. The park has area lights but they were not operating. Way finding is a challenge, as the park is part of a complex of businesses, church, RV park, etc., and signage is limited. Most spots were occupied by full timers. I would not chose to stay there again, but apparently others come back every year.
