John Bryan State Park campground offers an easy online booking process and a great selection of campsites. Many spots are conveniently located near restrooms and surrounded by beautiful woods with stunning fall foliage. The campsites are spacious, allowing parking for two cars, and come with an electric supply. Overall, it was a great experience—highly recommended!
My family and I had an amazing time. We will definitely be back to camp. Everything was super easy to figure out and find. The camp is open to all different types of camping. There are fire pits if you want/need. Lots of trails and such. Most trails are easy to moderate level so you can bring a stroller if you have kids. The area is great for family gatherings and birthday parties too.
Clean campground and shower house. Friendly staff. And a variety of hikes to take in the wealth of scenery.
The park is beautiful. We didn’t get to get into the trails or anything, yet. But when we arrived to camp it was super busy. We didn’t realize the campsites were super close together. Firewoood is sold outside the camp or inside for 8 dollars. The bathrooms started out fairly clean and by the end of the night it was basically unusable. And you don’t have privacy for a camping toilet or anything like that. We had raccoons attack a tent we had because they apparently wanted a medical box. That was not a fun experience to wake up to, they unzip the tents and come back for more! The park has a great playground, and the story trail is lovely. We had a ton of ants at our campsite and a tick. So, bug spray is a must. The ranger(?) drives by it seems like every ten minutes. So, you do have that. It is not a primitive/private experience. We had a camper on our second day walk up in our site and peek in the tent asking a favor when my husband was outside. So, very invasive feeling/space. Otherwise, I think it is a descent place. But truthfully, I don’t think based on my experience, I don’t think I’d go back.
My Girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very peaceful, quiet, other than the sounds of nature and the grounds were well kept. Mosquitos weren’t even that bad. They have a picnic table, fire pit with cooking rack, and plenty of power for RV’s electronics and small appliances at designated sites. We will definitely keep this place in mind for the future.
