For residents of Wisconsin, Merlin Lambert County Park in Pittsville is not just another campground; it's a quintessential slice of the state's natural charm and outdoor heritage. Its suitability for locals stems from its unique blend of rustic simplicity, unparalleled natural beauty, and a focus on core outdoor activities that resonate deeply with the Wisconsin spirit.
Firstly, the park caters directly to the local preference for genuine outdoor experiences. In a world increasingly saturated with highly developed campgrounds featuring extensive amenities, Merlin Lambert County Park offers a refreshing return to basics. The "rustic" campsites, many "right on the waters edge," provide an immersive natural setting that allows campers to truly disconnect and appreciate the serene beauty of the Wisconsin landscape. This emphasis on simplicity makes it an ideal escape for those seeking peace and quiet, far from the crowds.
Secondly, its reputation as a "great fishing get away" makes it a perfect fit for Wisconsin's strong angling culture. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Beautiful, and serene. Great fishing get away. There's only about 20 campsites, first come first serve. Most sites are right on the waters edge. Close to Black River Falls. Cute lil town. *Pit toilets only
Sep 06, 2021 · Gina WedekindGreat Camping and Fishing year round. Been coming here as a kid and love it.The lake has a healthy population of muskie, small crappie, nice bluegills and Bass. 30 rustic camp sites, include a boat launch, picnic tables, pit toilets and water pump. There is no electricity. Here is some camping info.
Jan 09, 2017 · Samuel DraegerIf you like rustic camping, then this is the place for you. There is no power at this campground so you will truly be camping. But don’t let having no power stop you from coming out here! You’re located right off of Potters Flowage so you have all the fishing you want plus a boat landing, there’s public hunting around too and amazing views. It does have a bathroom and trash. Aside from the campground it’s a great place to bring a kayak and explore the flowage too.
Jun 24, 2018 · BS ProductionsIf you're good without electricity, showers and other amenities, this place is it. Technically there's 30 sites, but some are on the small side and against the forest away from the lake. There are no cottages or buildings of any kind, so the wildlife is abundant due to the peace and quiet. Anyone on the water keeps their motors low and slow and more paddling of kayaks and canoes adds to the beauty. If there are UTV'S they stick to the road and are pretty much done by sunset. It is first come, first serve, so if you have any thought the water sites could fill up, get there early. I loved the rustic camping!
May 29, 2022 · RaeAnnaWhat a great campground! It’s primitive, but quiet, and the campsites were nicely spread out. The fishing here is awesome - hooked a ton of panfish and a couple large mouth bass, my son landed his first fish here with very little effort!
