Promotions or Special Offers

As a campground managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and primarily facilitating reservations through Recreation.gov, Piney Point Campground generally operates with standardized fee structures rather than frequent promotional "specials" often seen at privately owned parks. However, there are inherent value offerings and potential discounts that Texans should be aware of:

  • Federal Recreation Passes: Holders of certain federal recreation passes may be eligible for discounts on camping fees. These can include:
    • America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass: Offers a 50% discount on standard amenity fees (like camping) for U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 62 or over.
    • America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Access Pass: Offers a 50% discount on standard amenity fees for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities.
    • Other Interagency Passes: Other passes like the Military Pass or Annual Pass may also offer benefits or discounts, depending on the specific terms and conditions.
  • Standardized Pricing: While not a "promotion," the consistent and often competitive pricing set by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers can be seen as a value. Rates are typically transparent and publicly listed on Recreation.gov, allowing for easy budgeting.
  • Value of Amenities Included: The base camping fee often includes access to amenities such as water and electric hookups (for relevant sites), restrooms with showers, dump stations, boat ramps, and playground areas. The comprehensive nature of these included services represents significant value.
  • Off-Season Rates (Less Common): While not explicitly advertised, some federal campgrounds might have slight variations in fees during peak vs. off-peak seasons, though this is less common for per-night camping fees. It's always worth checking the Recreation.gov site for any seasonal adjustments.

The most reliable way to determine current fees, check for any applicable discounts (especially with federal passes), and explore availability is to visit the official Recreation.gov website for Piney Point Campground or call the listed reservation number. It is highly recommended to book well in advance, especially for weekends and peak seasons, as popular sites can fill up quickly.
