Promotions or Special Offers

As a Pennsylvania State Park campground, Pymatuning State Park - Linesville Campground operates under a standardized fee structure set by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). While traditional "promotions" or "special offers" like those found at private campgrounds are less common, state parks do offer specific rates and benefits that can provide value for local residents:

  • Pennsylvania Resident Pricing: Generally, camping fees at Pennsylvania State Parks have a lower rate for Pennsylvania residents compared to non-residents. This provides a direct benefit to local users, making it an affordable option for staycations.

  • Weekly Discounts: State parks typically offer a slight discount for booking a full week (7 consecutive nights) compared to individual nightly rates. This encourages longer stays and offers savings for extended vacations.

  • Senior and Disability Discounts: Individuals aged 62 and over, as well as people with disabilities, may be eligible for reduced camping fees. It's advisable to inquire about these specific discounts when making a reservation.

  • Off-Peak Season Rates: While the primary camping season runs from mid-April to mid-October, rates may be lower during the shoulder seasons (early spring and late fall) when demand is less. This can be a great time for locals to experience the park with fewer crowds and potentially more affordable pricing, with some sites potentially remaining open during the winter months (though water hookups may be limited during this period).

  • Campground Host Program: For those looking for a unique and extended experience, Pymatuning State Park occasionally offers opportunities to serve as a campground host, which typically provides free camping in exchange for assisting park personnel for a set number of hours per week. This can be an excellent way for local retirees or those with flexible schedules to enjoy extended stays.

Reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day), and can be made up to 11 months in advance. It is best to visit the official Pennsylvania DCNR website or use their reservation system for the most current pricing, availability, and specific discount qualifications.

Really enjoyed our stay. The reservoir was far more beautiful than we had expected. We rented paddleboards one day and kayaks another and enjoyed every second out on the water. Some sites have a great view of the water. The only thing we really didn't like about the campground was the location of the dump station.

Nice camping sites. Close proximity to boat rentals and basic camping needs. Friendly staff. The on site facilities were clean though some of the other state park managed ones were a bit rough. Most all of the people staying in the Linesville camp are were friendly and unintrusive. There is a small beach area where you can launch unpowered boats if you desire.

We were not overly impressed with this campground. The sites were very close together and felt kind of run down. It rained while we were there and our site and the ones around us flooded and turned into a huge mud pit making getting around without slipping difficult. The shower I used had a broken shower head and was about chest high (i'm only 5'2") and it twisted around on the wall once the water came on and made quite a mess spraying into the next stall over because of the pressure. (Hot water & good pressure were nice, but the setup of the showers and broken shower head holder left much to be desired.) On our second night, we lost power around 3pm from a storm. They locked up the bathrooms so they couldn't be used and told us we had to drive over to the beach area bathrooms (not a walkable distance, so we had to jump in the truck to go) and these bathrooms were DISGUSTING. Broken sinks, feces on the toilets, the water would only come out the sink if you held it on, so it made washing difficult. In addition to that, it was pitch black and had 0 safety lights, so to use the facilities, you had to try and prop up a flashlight. The campground also did not have any emergency/safety lights anywhere, which made us feel a bit uncomfortable and unsafe when it was later at night. Overall, we were pretty disappointed with our stay and do not plan to return to this campground.

Last stop on our way up North. This park is on the largest lake in Pa and it was highly populated by boaters. This was a large sprawling park and I thought we were in a different section of it, but it was closed yet. We went hiking, driving back to Ohio, only a ten minute drive, and the path was very mucky.

Pymatumin is a wonderful lake to visit. If you like outdoor recreation this place is phenomenal. The only negative thing I've noticed, first hand, are the beaches. The sand in the water has gravel. Tough on the feet but not too bad. Water shoes would help. All in all a great place for you and the kids.
