Customer Reviews
Big let down, this time around. "This was an amazing campground". Power went out every second in are spot. When out four times and was a massive let down. We had came before and was great but this time was terrible. The main lady was extremely rude and unhelpful. We were trying to set up with our friends and make the situation work but the lady wanted us to pay extra. Which we were not doing. But on the up side the this men were trying to be helpful and tried their best. But honestly a really crappy camping situation this time 😕. And not to mention they had a really bad attitude with the kids, "walking on the grass" to get to the campsite. Although we got a refund.
First off let me say we are new to camping so we visited several campgrounds and ended up choosing Crystal Springs. Shelly (manager) was very nice, helpful and professional and the campground was nice otherwise we wouldn’t have considered it. We were shown 4 available lots (by Shelly) of which one had a very old trailer, deck and shed on it that we were told was going to be removed and the lot would be cleaned up it was overgrown We chose this lot and then things went down hill. We received a call from an owner that told us the deck and shed were going to have to stay and the people wanted $$ for it. We made another 1 1/2 hour trip to look at it because we didn’t pay attention to it the first trip. Shed was locked and deck was in so/so shape and damaged from trailer removal so we countered the asking price because We were told we would HAVE to choose another lot if we didn’t want to buy it. Remember we already saw the other lots available. She did offer up a weekend lot that would work. It is now 6 weeks into there season so we asked about prorating the cost of the lot rental owner said yes, then a call after talking to another owner they can’t honor prorated price and the weekend lot that was offered as seasonal isn’t an option now because they make more $$ on weekend/weekly rates vs seasonal. My husband commented they really needed to work on customer relations. About an hour later we got a call from the owner that WE weren’t a good fit for the campground! WOW! We were open to paying for an old structure that couldn’t be removed, another we couldn’t see inside and a cleared lot ( in the condition they would expect us to maintain it) when we parked our trailer. Happy to say we found another campground that is a perfect fit US!!
This is where we go every weekend to our getaway place. Many great friends and memories are made here. Great family atmosphere. Lots to do.
I have been camping with Crystal Springs for 10 years or so and while the price is steep for a seasonal site, the location is perfect. 40 minutes or so from my home, out in a variably isolated location in the country, 15 minutes from the nearest lake for fishing, boating, etc. 10 to 15 minutes outside of the nearest town where there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and entertainments. For a campground, Crystal Springs is very happily situated for every camper's needs. The campground itself hosts plenty of weekender activities, including fishing tournaments, dances, potlucks, etc. Boasting seasonal, weekend, and tent sites with full hook-ups for electric, sewage, and water.
Upon arriving early we were told by a pleasant lady we would have to pay a half day fee arriving a half hour before permitting time. I asked if anybody was on the site, she indicated not. So I continued to ask for no extra fee. The owner in the back room came out and was very insulting. Not pleasant at all and said we could Leave if we didn’t want to pay the 1/2 day fee! REALLY, I have Never Meet such an in inviting campground in my 60 years of camping!!! Stay Away!! Campers are Always very accommodating where I come from ~ Especially when nobody was occupying the site👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
