Location and Accessibility

Red's Rockin RV Park is conveniently situated at 331114 e U.S. Rte 66, Wellston, OK 74881, USA. This address places it directly on a historic stretch of U.S. Route 66, which is not only a legendary highway but also a practical artery for travel across Oklahoma. Wellston itself is a small town in Lincoln County, offering a quieter, more rural atmosphere away from the immediate hustle and bustle of larger cities.

The park's location "out in the country" is highlighted by a long-term resident as a significant benefit, contributing to its "quite & so peaceful" environment. This setting is ideal for those who prefer the tranquility of rural living over urban noise and congestion. Despite its peaceful country setting, being directly on U.S. Route 66 ensures good accessibility. This means that while you enjoy a quiet retreat, you're not isolated. Wellston offers basic amenities, and larger towns like Chandler or even Oklahoma City are accessible via Route 66 or nearby major highways for broader shopping, dining, and service options.

The ease of access from a well-known highway like Route 66 makes it a convenient stop for travelers passing through, even if its primary appeal seems to be for longer-term residents seeking a stable and quiet base. The absence of heavy traffic noise, despite being on a historic road, suggests that the specific positioning of the park allows for this peaceful atmosphere, which is a key advantage for anyone looking for a restful environment.

Services Offered

Red's Rockin RV Park offers a focused set of services designed to provide a comfortable and affordable long-term living experience for its residents. Based on customer reviews, the primary services and inclusions are:

  • RV Parking Lots: The core service is providing designated spaces for RVs. While described as a "small park," it accommodates residents for extended periods.
  • Full Hookups (Implied by "utilities were included"): Although not explicitly stated as "full hookups," the mention that "utilities were included" strongly implies that water, sewer, and electricity connections are provided at each lot. This is a significant convenience for RV living, eliminating the need for frequent trips to dump stations or concerns about utility bills.
  • Utilities Included in Lot Rent: A standout feature is that "the lot rent is extremely reasonable & the utilities were included." This simplifies budgeting for residents, as utility costs are often a variable expense at other parks.
  • Storm Shelter Access: A critical safety feature in Oklahoma, the park provides a "storm shelter," which was described as "very clean, no water or bugs" and having "plenty of room" for the entire community during use. This amenity offers peace of mind during severe weather events.

It is important to note what is not explicitly mentioned as a service, based on one review: "No bath house or laundry room." This indicates that residents should be self-contained in their RVs or plan for off-site options for these needs. This focus on essential hookups and a storm shelter underscores the park's emphasis on providing a peaceful and secure living space rather than extensive communal facilities.

Features / Highlights

Red's Rockin RV Park, though described as "pretty basic" in terms of communal amenities, boasts several key features and highlights that contribute to its appeal, particularly for long-term residents seeking a specific type of RV living experience:

  • Quiet & Peaceful Environment: This is a consistent highlight, with residents describing the park as "quite & so peaceful." Its "out in the country" setting ensures minimal noise and a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for those who value tranquility.
  • Safety and Security: A significant feature is the reported safety, with a long-term resident stating, "No one has ever messed with my things during my time away." This sense of security is invaluable for residents, especially those who travel for work.
  • Clean and Spacious Storm Shelter: A crucial amenity in Oklahoma, the on-site storm shelter is described as "very clean, no water or bugs," and large enough to accommodate "the whole little community" with "plenty of room." This provides essential peace of mind during severe weather.
  • Reasonable Lot Rent with Included Utilities: The "extremely reasonable" lot rent, which includes utilities, is a major financial benefit. This simplifies budgeting and offers excellent value for a long-term stay, making it a very attractive option for those looking to manage costs.
  • Community Atmosphere: Despite being a small park, residents describe the people they've met as "pleasant & respectful," and that "the whole little community was in there" during a storm. This suggests a friendly, respectful, and supportive neighborly environment.
  • Rural Setting: The park's location "out in the country" is considered a positive, enhancing the peaceful atmosphere and offering a break from urban congestion.
  • Suitable for Long-Term Stays: The reviews clearly indicate the park's suitability and popularity for extended residency, with one guest staying for "almost a year." This makes it an ideal base for workers or those preferring long-term RV living.

It's important to acknowledge a potential drawback mentioned by one reviewer: sites can be "so close to the next trailer that you tripped over the sewerhose of the next door trailer every time you walked out the door. Almost impossible to get furniture in and out of trailer due to how close it was to adjacent trailer." Prospective residents should consider this aspect and potentially inquire about specific site layouts or availability of more spacious options if this is a concern.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided customer reviews, there are no specific "promotions or special offers" explicitly advertised for Red's Rockin RV Park in the traditional sense of discounts for new customers or seasonal deals. However, the consistent highlight of "extremely reasonable" lot rent with included utilities acts as a standing offer of exceptional value.

For an RV park, especially one catering to long-term stays, the most significant "promotion" is often its consistent and transparent pricing structure, particularly when it includes utilities. This clarity and affordability are often more appealing than temporary discounts for residents planning extended stays.

Prospective residents are encouraged to contact Red's Rockin RV Park directly to inquire about their current lot rent rates, any potential variations based on stay duration, or if there are any specific benefits for long-term commitments. While the reviews do not detail temporary promotions, the core value proposition of reasonable all-inclusive pricing is a strong incentive in itself.

Its suitability for locals stems from several key aspects that align well with the preferences and needs of residents in the state.

Firstly, the park's primary appeal lies in its exceptionally quiet and peaceful country setting along historic Route 66. For Oklahomans weary of city noise or those simply desiring a serene environment, this park provides a genuine escape. The reported absence of disturbances creates a truly restful atmosphere, ideal for both those who work from their RVs and those looking to unwind after a long day. While the park might be "pretty basic" without a bathhouse or laundry room, this focus on essential hookups and a safe environment, combined with its long-term resident friendly policies, indicates that it caters specifically to self-sufficient RVers who prioritize peace and value over extensive communal amenities. The positive community interactions ("pleasant & respectful" neighbors) also suggest a welcoming environment. Despite one review noting close site proximity, the overall sentiment points to a highly satisfactory experience for long-term residents. For Oklahomans looking for a quiet, safe, and cost-effective place to call home in their RV, particularly if they are working in the area or simply enjoying the RV lifestyle, Red's Rockin RV Park is a strong contender.

I have been at this rv park for almost a year & have enjoyed my stay! It’s a small park, but all the people I’ve met have been pleasant & respectful! It’s quite & so peaceful. No one has ever messed with my things during my time away. There’s a storm shelter, which I used once during my stay. It was very clean, no water or bugs! The whole little community was in there & we had plenty of room. The only reason I’m leaving, I received a promotion at work & I’m no longer required to travel back & forth, otherwise I’d continue my stay here. I will miss it, even though I was usually working, it was like having a mini vacation! I hope the next individual or family has a wonderful stay! I also want to mention the lot rent is extremely reasonable & the utilities were included. The setting is out in the country, which makes it even better!!! Best Wishes!!! Thanks for the stay! I will miss it!!!

Pretty basic place to park. No bath house or laundry room. Had my son park his trailer so close to the next trailer that you tripped over the sewerhose of the next door trailer every time you walked out the door. Almost impossible to get furniture in and out of trailer due to how close it was to adjacent trailer. Glad he isn’t there any longer.

Camper we rented was over priced, couldn't keep cool no trees for shade couldn't put awning out. Had to buy propane in their tank 100 lb min. She said she would buy the difference back (she lied). Claimed it was clean when we got it the top storage shelves were dusty and had mouse poop in them. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. Shelly the owner would start dunning for the rent the day before it was due and all day long on due date she threatened to debit our account (without authorization) and kept records of our card information which she lied said she wouldn't. the day of due date we were 1 day late once tried charging late fees made us sign a lease don't know why because she did not go by it. Made us mad about getting into our checking account so we moved she was supposed to buy back propane that was left and didn't nor our deposit.when came time for her to pay up wouldn't return our phone calls to even get her keys back. So now we have to put a lean on her for a simple $350, only because she was so rude all the time and acts like a know it all so that motivated me to go through the law terribly run. Non professional she also owns one in stillwater I believe beware she will rip you off. This is what top cabinets in kitchen looked like when we moved in.

Was going to work a Job in the area starting in about a week so rented a spot from the lady that runs the place. Showed up and there was a work trailer parked in the only 50amp spot. Called lady and she said there was nothing she could do but I could move it. So had to unhook, hook, move, unhook, hook back up, and squeeze our RV in to the tiny slot available while it was raining. While doing so people that were staying there told us that we should stay at Luther due to it was nicer and the Lady here was a "B". So (not heeding their warning) we left our trailer there and went home for a few days. Meanwhile I had a Job change and pick my trailer up after a week and headed to new job. Asked lady if I could get credited back for the rest of the month that we were not going to be parked there? Still have received anything. If that's how she does customer service then may the bird of paradise fly up her nose!!

Parked my travel trailer there from August to December, 2020. A quiet park just off Route 66. Owner Shelly is very responsive and great to work with. I highly recommend this quiet, small park.
