Customer Reviews
Beautiful piece of property. Met Toby , super nice, he’s a hard-working, talented young man. He has a small garden and is more than willing to share some fresh vegetables with the campers ! Sites are spacious with full hookups. Evening sunsets behind the mountain are so peaceful. Plenty of deer and rabbits. And muskrats along the creek. Elkins, which is a short distance has everything to offer as far as gas groceries etc. If you need a laundromat, there’s a nice one right down the road. . The bathhouse has nice big showers and very clean, one of the best I’ve ever seen at an RV camp. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to return one day. John and Dinodog
Incredible campground run by some of the best hosts I’ve come across. Toby was incredibly helpful and hospitable! He even opened up the barn to get my motorcycle out of the elements. Sites are spacious and well maintained. Bathhouse was also impeccably clean. The only “con” I can think of is the road leading in can be a bit loose in areas, which I believe may be due to the fact the gravel hasn’t packed down well yet, but it’s easily passable if you’re careful (I was on an adventure bike but others may have issues with this). Cars, trucks, and campers don’t need to worry about it. Will definitely be back here and recommending to all my friends!
Great campground, we had the whole place to ourselves. Toby was very accommodating and nice, he takes pride in the campground. If you did not read your reservation like me..no need to check in, just drive past the little house and barn on the left, campground is just over the hill. If we are back this way we will booka stay again!!
This is by far the best campground I’ve been to. I was traveling through and had some major car problems and found this gem. Hands down the best business owners I’ve had the privilege to meet. It’s got all the necessities you need, and still feel like you’re in a primitive spot. Toby (one of the owners) helped me with far more than most have during the car problems and making sure I was enjoying my stay, and had everything I needed to do that. If you’re in the state of West Virginia at all, I’d recommend this place for a stay as long as possible. Toby has helped bring a little more faith to humanity. I can’t thank them enough for the help I received. Looking forward to coming back and seeing this beautiful place again!
Our 1st visit with Liz & Toby was over Memorial Day weekend 2024. The grounds are very well kept, with Toby & Liz working hard to make more improvements all the time. The sites are all well spaced & offer full or partial hook-ups as well as several primitive tent sites. When you are at your site, you feel like you are a million miles from civilization but within a few minutes you can be at a grocery store, gas station, or restaurant! It's very private & peaceful at Saylwinds. Toby & Liz are SUPER owners who go the extra mile to make you feel 'at home'. If you have any issues (which we did not), Toby is a phone call away! Firewood is available for sale on site ($5/bundle). Saylwinds is very pet friendly as well. (We use pet fencing to keep our furbabies contained.) If you have kids, there's a fishing pond (catch & release) across the tracks & lots of open space to run & play in the sunshine.
