The campground is nestled on the southern side of the lake, providing campers with beautiful sunsets and a sense of remoteness while still being conveniently accessible.
Getting to Timber Creek South Campground is straightforward for most Kansas residents. If you're traveling via I-70, you'll take exit 295, then head north on Highway 77 for approximately 18 miles. The fees for primitive campsites are usually a flat nightly rate. However, visitors who hold certain federal recreation passes, such as the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass (which includes the Senior Pass and Access Pass), may be eligible for discounts on camping fees. It is always recommended to contact the Milford Lake Project Office or check the official Recreation.gov website for the most current fee information, potential discounts, and any specific policies regarding reservations or first-come, first-served availability. While there may not be seasonal "specials" in the commercial sense, the value offered by the scenic location and amenities at its standard rate is often considered a great deal by campers.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding Timber Creek South Campground, including current operating conditions, site availability, and any changes in regulations, it is best to contact the Milford Lake Project Office, which manages the campground. Went camping here last week. Really good spot. Nice sized cats here too.
Beautiful view. Very clean, quiet, eagles are visible. It's just absolutely gorgeous
Not the greatest campground in the world, but it is pretty quiet. There doesn't appear to be any showers but there are two pit toilets. As a whole it feels rather derelict. I visited in October 2020 though so its lack of patrons may have to do with the weather and COVID.
Nice campground but no power and since it was so hot, we moved on. Nice primitive campground, great for shoulder seasons or to rough it.
Would love it if we could have stayed whole time...but sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate 😫
