We stayed in Grove #9 it was very dry and no shade. Bonus was we were right next to the restrooms / parking lot but no shade. We had a wind storm followed by a thunderstorm without trees we were in an empty field. The other groves in the area have trees so have some natural wind blockage. Can't complain though was nice and quite for our scouting trip.

It's a nice campground for groups of people. Please keep in mind that this campground is meant for groups of people and not individual campers. The camp grounds are well maintained and there are two bathrooms (toilets only, no showers). The Kankakee river is right there and there is a nice trail accessible for this campground as well. Overall it is a nice place to spend a few days with other people that you know.
