Customer Reviews
As a tent camper that pitched tent in the deepest parts of the redwood forest and Sequoia mountain to the Imperial desert, from the Sierra Nevada's to Norfolk Virginia. And in my opinion this is a very pleasant campground to have a convenient camping experience. Everything is as it should be to stake down a little getaway for an extremely affordable price. If you're a seasoned camper like myself and seek a comfortable spot to break in some new camping gear this is totally worth it. (A little tip, mid week has great availability based on my experience.) Happy Trails!
The host was great. The campground was spacious, shaded, clean and quite. Electricity outlets were by each site. The grills were functional and I liked their design. The shower building was clean and looked spacious but I was there on a not busy week day. One thing I didn't like was there were no hooks in the washing room. A few hooks would be helpful to hang a towel, a little toilette bag or a piece of clothing. Just imagine putting any of those on a wet floor or a sink top.
Love Door County but hate the summer madness of it…Potawatomi Campground and Sturgeon Bay have so much to offer. An hour and fifteen minutes away from the ferry to Washington Island a definite must do day trip. Campground is beautiful and campsites are gravel based and generous in size. Hike from the campground to the lookout tower along the water, ride rustic bike trails and you can easily walk waters edge. Biking to Sturgeon Bay from the campground is a short ride. Biking local roads is scenic, so many options. Downtown is very quaint and good shopping.
Beautiful campground with mature trees which provide plenty of shade and privacy! Nice and quiet. Electric only. (Fresh water and dump station available at entrance). Plenty of awesome paved trails. Large campsites. Nice bathhouse available, as well as several pit toilets. Easy access to town (groceries, gas, restaurants). I recommend this one for sure!
Good campground. No water-no sewer hook up, just electrical. You must plan ahead to bring fresh water, we fill up our tank at the entrance where the Camp Host are. Nice Hosts. The check in was nice and quick. There are big bathroom with clean showers. Nice sight seeing to the River. Very peaceful.
