Basic and rustic sites. Sites vary ,some have cement areas, some are drivethrus, most have water and 50 amp hookup. Sadly woods need a cleanup, over 150 tires and plastic waste thru forest, not sure why they don't do a cleanup.sites are quiet. They have a few tiny cabins at front entrance for. Bathroom with shower, note building is not insulated or heated. Overall this place has more potential with a little more tlc invested. Highest site price per day in the area.

I made reservations without reading a lot of reviews. After the fact, I know dumb, I read a lot of reviews. Lots of complaints. But I decided that since I was staying in my own camper for one night and had my own bathroom I could risk it. Boy, I’m sure glad I did. It was a charming little campground. We had a little bit of a view of the river. Don was very kind and helpful. Showed us right to our spot. I can’t attest to the bathrooms. The water pressure was great but I wouldn’t recommend drinking it. It has a very rusty smell/taste. The water looked clear though. I wish I would have had a couple of days to explore the trails and just hang out. If you are looking for luxury and lots of amenities, then no don’t come here. But if you are looking for a pleasant campground near a river (remember to check about flooding before going) i would recommend. Oh, and just leave your trash at the end of your lot. They will come pick it up.

We got in late and the campground host still came out to meet us. Very affordable campsite. The showers were hot and we got to camp right beside the Illinois river. Thanks for having us! If we are ever in the area again we will stay here.

Stopped here for a night on a cross country trip. When 4 other campgrounds refused me because I’m just tenting and not in an RV, Don here was very nice and accommodating. I had a spot directly on the water. Fire pit, picnic table and a wonderful view.

After winding through the Illinois backroads, we came up on the park. We were greeted with a friendly smile, quickly checked in and escorted to our site. At first glance it looked like it would be very uneven, but the manager told us to park closer to the other side of the site. Viola! Even side to side and front to back. Our site, though not lakeside, had a very nice view of Upper Peoria Lake. It is an old park that on first glance might be considered sketchy, but was quiet and spacious. It has a small unisex bathhouse near the front of the park. Our only complaint about it was there was no soap at the sink. We would stay here again if in the area.
