About
For many residents across Illinois, finding a suitable and affordable place to live, often combined with convenient storage solutions, is a significant priority. Manufactured home communities, commonly known as mobile home parks, play a crucial role in the state's housing landscape by providing accessible residential options. These communities offer a unique blend of independent living within a managed neighborhood setting, frequently at a more budget-friendly price point than traditional stick-built homes. In Germantown Hills, Illinois, Tuckaway Mobile Home Park and Self Storage presents one such combined solution, catering to those seeking both a home and practical storage options in Tazewell County. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Tuckaway, exploring its location, integrated services, and what current residents are experiencing within the community.
Tuckaway Mobile Home Park and Self Storage is situated in Germantown Hills, a village in Tazewell County recognized for its desirable residential areas and convenient access to the larger Peoria metropolitan area. The typical model for a mobile home park involves residents owning their manufactured homes while leasing the land, which can offer advantages such as lower upfront costs for homeownership and potentially reduced property taxes compared to conventional real estate. The addition of on-site self-storage units at Tuckaway provides an extra layer of convenience, a unique feature that can be highly beneficial for residents needing extra space.
However, it's essential to present a balanced perspective based on recent resident feedback. Reviews indicate that while the community may have offered a positive experience in the past, there are current concerns regarding management practices, particularly from a corporate level, and the condition of community infrastructure like roads. Terms such as "potholes are horrible" and "Corporate never fixes anything!!" suggest areas needing attention and improvement. Conversely, individual staff members like "Danielle and Chris" are praised for being "great" and "easy to work with," indicating that the resident experience can be significantly influenced by local management. This dichotomy highlights a community in a state of evolution, where the quality of living might vary based on ongoing efforts by the managing entities.
The presence of both a mobile home park and self-storage units under one umbrella aims to offer a comprehensive solution for residents. This integrated approach can simplify logistics for those who need both living space and additional storage, making Tuckaway a practical choice for certain housing and storage needs. For local Illinois users considering this option, understanding these dynamics of Tuckaway Mobile Home Park and Self Storage is crucial for making an informed decision about their housing and storage arrangements in the Germantown Hills area. Direct communication with the park office is always recommended to gain the most current insights and address specific concerns.

Customer Reviews
Been here for three years. I must say it was great in the first year I lived here. Now...not so great. Father/daughter runs the place along with new company. I highly NOT RECOMMENDED TO MOVE HERE. I got 2 violations back to back. I never had any problems in the first two years but now. Am currently working on moving out in few months. Was going to give "no stars". Let alone one star. those POTHOLES are horrible.
Been here for 3 years. The people in the office here are easy to work with but corporate has our management gone at other locations and all that is available is maintenance. Corporate never fixes anything!! The potholes out here are insane!! I guarantee not a single person from corporate would drive their cars out here. Rent increases but nothing changes. I don't recommend this place. The community was great 3 years ago. Now they just let anyone live here, and it's gone to trash. The 2 stars are basically because of Danielle and Chris, they are great. It's the "big wigs" who stink. As much money as this company makes, we shouldn't have potholes the size of a small army
Danielle and her maintenance guy are really awesome people to work with!! And it is a super cute community!
Danielle is very nice and a hard worker. She works to get things fixed in a timely manor. Maintenance there is all ways busy.
Recently moved in and I have to say I already love it here! The community is friendly, clean and quiet. Crystal, Casey and the maintenance personnel I have meet are and have been fantastic to work with. The one problem that was found upon moving in and any question I have had along the way have been immediately addressed and/or answered in friendly, courteous and pleasantly professional ways. I am so glad I found this place.
