The camp was nice and spacious also had amble amenities like bathrooms, chargers, fire pit, and a few other things. People and staff were friendly as well. Miles of hiking trails surround the campground, there is also a super cool fire tower that you can go up. The best thing there by far is the oxbow lake. BE MINDFUL OF MOSQUITOS!!!
May 26, 2024 · Nathan DennisIt was a decent campsite, but no rooftop tents allowed. Only on the ground tents at this location. DNR was friendly and worked with us. Never had any push backs on RTT at tent only site before this one.
Sep 26, 2024 · Stacey SouthworthCamped at site #2 in the tent camping area. Thankfully it provides pretty good cover from most of the elements. The vault toilet is good home from sites #1 and 2, but there was only one other group camping while we were there, so we could cut across other sites that were unoccupied. You have access to trail #5 from the tent campsite. The vault toilet was in good condition when we went, but toilet paper was running a little low. The trails were in good condition even with the water table being high. We went on trail #5 and #8. Overall a really great experience even with really cold weather.
Mar 27, 2022 · Darren DemisA great campground if you are coming to kayak the Tippecanoe River. A nice boat ramp is within walking distance of your campsite making it easy to take your kayak back to your site after a nice paddle downstream on the river (launching from a place such as Monterey). The campsites were among the most spacious of any state park I've been to recently. Hiking trails also run through the campground that give you access to the rest of the park's trail system. The only negative is that there were no modern restrooms and the vault toilets were not the most pleasant, even comparing among other vault toilets throughout the campground. But ultimately, that's the price you have to be willing to pay for a perfect location if your primary reason for coming to the park is the river and bringing your own boat.
