Our state's natural beauty, particularly its rivers, draws outdoor enthusiasts from all corners. Finding a campground that offers direct access to such a natural wonder, coupled with the necessary amenities, is a significant advantage. Spring River Oaks Campground aims to provide just that – a place where you can easily launch your float trip, enjoy riverside relaxation, and have clean facilities at your fingertips. As one reviewer enthusiastically noted, it's a "Nice very well maintained campground!!!" with "super friendly and helpful" staff and "Nice grassy spots right by the river." These positive affirmations highlight the strengths of the campground for those seeking a welcoming and functional outdoor experience.
However, it's also important to present a complete picture. As with many campgrounds situated in scenic areas, there can be unique environmental factors that influence the experience. This guide will provide you with all the essential information to plan your visit, including contact details and an honest look at what you can expect, ensuring you're well-prepared for your Arkansas camping adventure at Spring River Oaks Campground.
Spring River Oaks Campground is ideally situated at 1868 River Oaks Trail, Mammoth Spring, AR 72554, USA. This location places it directly alongside the picturesque Spring River, a significant draw for campers and outdoor enthusiasts in Arkansas. Mammoth Spring is a small town in Fulton County, Arkansas, renowned for Mammoth Spring State Park, home to the largest spring in Arkansas and the second-largest in the Ozark Mountains.
The campground’s placement right "by the river" is a major highlight, offering direct access for activities like floating, fishing, and enjoying the serene waters. This riverfront setting is a prime feature for those looking to immerse themselves in water-based recreation, which is a popular pastime for many Arkansans.
In terms of accessibility, Mammoth Spring is located in Northern Arkansas, close to the Missouri border. It's accessible via U.S. Route 63 and State Highway 9, which connect to broader regional road networks. This makes Spring River Oaks Campground a relatively straightforward drive for residents coming from various parts of Arkansas, as well as those from southern Missouri. While the specific "River Oaks Trail" might be a smaller local road, its connection to the main routes ensures visitors can find their way.
However, a notable aspect of the campground's location, as highlighted in one review, is its proximity to train tracks. The reviewer vividly describes the experience as being like "sleeping on a train track," with the "entire tent shook" and "loud train ran through the night." This is a crucial piece of information for prospective campers, especially those sensitive to noise or seeking absolute tranquility for sleep. Locations 58, 57, and 20 were specifically mentioned as being affected by this. For those who are heavy sleepers or for whom the excitement of a passing train is part of the rustic camping experience, this might not be an issue. However, light sleepers should certainly be aware of this potential noise factor.
Despite the train noise, the convenience of being located near the Spring River, a major recreational asset, and within easy reach of Mammoth Spring State Park, offers significant advantages. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty and activities of the area, while also having access to local amenities and supplies in Mammoth Spring itself. The strategic placement for floating enthusiasts remains a strong draw, providing a practical base for exploring one of Arkansas's most beloved rivers.

Customer Reviews
Nice very well maintained campground!!! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Nice grassy spots right by the river. Bathhouse clean and convenient.
DO YOU LIKE SLEEPING ON A TRAIN TRACK?? THIS IS WHAT IT WAS LIKE! Our entire tent shook. You had to yell at the person next to you as the trains passed. If you are an all night train system flying through your tent, vibrating your teeth, clanking cars and letting out the air brakes, kind of person this place is for you. Otherwise a peaceful sleep is not in the cards! We'll sleep in a wind tunnel before camping here again. Lots 58, 57 and 20. The float was great, bathrooms were cleanish.
This place is a whole joke!!! If u are going to spring river to party this is NOT the place. They have wardens walking the grounds to keep everyone quiet. Karaoke is not aloud. This is church environment camping. It's expensive. And everything had a deposit and price. Even the electricity and the wood. Wood is $8 a small bundle. U have to rent the adapter for electricity. The sites are very confusing. Cause of that someone was in my plot. So i had full price on half of a plot. Rafts are small. And worn out. We had to flip ours three times cuz it was flooded with water. Also they don't take u all the way to the top of river. So ur cheated there as well. The staff are very attitudish as well. But if u want a bedtime then this is ur place. And the Sherrif was riding thru pretty often at this place. I wld not recommend this place to anyone.
Took a last minute trip on Mothers Day weekend to a mostly vacant campground and as many know this doesn’t happen often . Enjoyed River side accommodations and views . We had amazing Northern Lights views from out in the middle of the campground and with no one there the light pollution was low . Took a shuttle up to Dam 3 and floated back to our site , Hot Showers and Bathrooms on site .Caught many trout and fried some up for tacos .. Electric and water hookups .
We come down there once a year before the summer rush. We have a group of disable veterans who float on the spring river with safety boaters. We are charged $7.00 per car and $7.00 per boat! I can understand the per vehicle. But boats????? Is there a way we can lower that price for a non-profit group that services disable veterans. If not, then we will have to look to go somewhere else that will help out our veterans.
