Promotions or Special Offers
Based on the provided customer reviews and typical campground practices, Lost Pines Campground does not explicitly advertise ongoing "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense. Pricing for campgrounds is usually based on a per-night rate, with variations for RV sites versus tent sites, and potentially different rates for weekly or monthly stays if offered. One reviewer mentioned making reservations for an RV for "four nights," but did not specify the exact nightly cost paid, only that the total cost for the unsatisfactory site was a concern. Another review indicated a refund dispute over "two nights" payment for an RV site. Without explicit pricing details, it's difficult to list specific rates or offers. The value perceived by campers often comes from the overall experience rather than specific discounts.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on current rates, any available discounts (e.g., for extended stays, specific RV clubs, or seasonal promotions), and reservation policies, it is highly recommended that prospective campers contact Lost Pines Campground directly via the provided phone numbers. Campground pricing and special offers can be dynamic, changing with seasons, demand, or under new management. Lost Pines Campground in Knox, Indiana, presents a suitable and practical option for locals within the Indiana region seeking a convenient and community-focused camping experience. While some facilities may show signs of age, the recent positive shifts under new ownership, highlighted by reviews, suggest a campground striving for improvement and offering a genuinely friendly atmosphere. For residents of Indiana, Lost Pines provides an accessible getaway that balances basic outdoor living with essential conveniences and a sense of security.
One of the key reasons Lost Pines is suitable for locals is its emphasis on safety and a well-lit environment. This, combined with the presence of "Lots of kids running around," points to a family-friendly atmosphere where parents can feel more at ease. The convenience of on-site ice and wood sales, along with the proximity to a local "Ice cream shop" and a "dock for kids to swim off," adds significant value for a relaxed and enjoyable camping trip, reducing the need for constant off-site excursions for supplies or entertainment. For Indiana locals looking for a safe, friendly, and increasingly well-managed campground that allows them to connect with nature without venturing too far from home, Lost Pines Campground in Knox is a practical and welcoming choice.
Customer Reviews
We had a really lovely time. It feels safe and is well lit. Lots of kids running around too. Plenty of trees to hang hammocks between. We stayed in tents in the space across from the office all the way back. The owner even lent us a tent when ours wouldn’t “pop up.” Bathrooms are a little yucky and could use some updating but its camping. We brought baby wipes and TP and we were just fine. Ice cream shop near-by, a dock for kids to swim off, friendly little town. Ice and wood available there which is convenient. New owners seem friendly, on-site, and helpful. 2 labor days in a row and we will be back!
I made reservations at lost Pines for my RV for four nights. I had never been in the area and I had to rely on the website. On the website it looks like a very nice place to camp when in reality it is a dump. Everything is old and moldy. Let’s say it has seen it better days. It is very tired. The site I was placed on was directly near a cabin and consisted of dirt everywhere. Not even a picnic table. A broken fire ring, and some old metal object that had been sitting there for years. Quite the ugly site. I had arrived late when the owner was not there And I was busy the next day as I was helping my son get settled at his new place at Culver Academy. I called the campground to tell them that I was not satisfied with my site and that I was expecting a different experience from what was reality. The young lady at the front office was very kind and said that she would call the owner to see if she would reimburse me. I told her that I would pay for two nights since I wouldn’t be able to pull my camper off the site until after 6 PM and thought it was only fair. She called me back and told me that I would be reimbursed and I thanked her. Well, it was 5:20 in the afternoon and I was on my way back from South Bend with my son after searching for some furniture and the owner herself called me and very nastily told me if I wanted my refund I needed to get my camper offsite . I told her I would be there after 6 o’clock like I told the girl at the office and she said well you better hurry up. Remember now, I had told the girl at the office that I would pay for two nights so legally that spot was mine until the following morning until the 10 AM checkout time and this owner was forcing me out a day ahead of time. I figured OK maybe she’s going to reimburse me three nights instead of two nights? Well, I looked at my credit card bill and she only reimbursed me two nights. I’m not complaining about that as I told the girl in the office that I would pay for two nights, but what I am angry about is her attitude towards me to get my camper off her campsite the night that I had actually paid her in full. I never met this woman, but she seems like a nasty person just like her campground.
First of all location is great the place itself is also not bad there is a pool , not far ice cream shop you can bike around the lake. The campground bathrooms are disaster. They are not remodeled for the past 25 years. Showers disgusting dirty with spiderwebs and debris on the floor. During our 3 day stay 2 out of 3 toilets were clogged and not usable. It would be place to go more often but do to the bathroom situations we were only staying there 2 nights. It seems like there is no policy structure. Some nights the music is so loud until 4 or 5 am. Overall not bad lace to go but please have the bathrooms fixed and you will have more families come visit.
Awesome place, close to Chicago, perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Clean, reasonable sized pool. The Lady Owner is very friendly and helpful, same as Mr Husband 😀 The resort is quite big, located in the woods. Option for rental golf carts. The cabin was clean and well equipped. Close distance to the public beach (although the beach is quite small, but water in the lake is warm and shallow so good for the kids. There is also some playground stuff installed. Grocery and liquor store within 15 min drive. We forgot to take our small travel grill but the Owners helped us with it. But don't forget yours! :) That's my second stay and we will be coming back. Thank you! 👍 Sylwia PS. I just read some complaints about loud music. The night we were staying there was a karaoke going on. Our cabin was pretty close but my 86yo Grandma was able to sleep and did not have any complaints at all. Kids all ages are having the blast I'd say, hanging out together, even after dark. I saw it myself and even envied a little, for sure they have fun wandering around in the dark. Very adventurous and memorable 😁 of course you gotta be careful because you don't know another people staying in the next cabin or RV. But that's common sense. The campground feels safe, good place for both, families with kids or just to party. Room for everyone. Thank you again 😀
The owners are amazing, and being by the beach and lake are excellent features. The rooms are lovely and the pool is fantastic. I recommend for any families looking for a fun getaway over the summer. Some days there are parties that are loads of fun. If you go I hope you and anyone else you go with have a blast.
