Promotions or Special Offers

As a professional content writer committed to factual reporting, it is important to clarify that specific, time-sensitive "promotions or special offers" directly for individual campsites, such as Campsite 10 at Camp Strake, are not typically found in general public searches. Camp Strake, operating as a significant facility under the Sam Houston Area Council of Scouting America, manages its reservations and pricing primarily through program enrollment, group bookings, and specific event schedules, rather than offering traditional commercial discounts for individual campsite rentals.

However, interested Texans should be aware of the following general booking considerations that might influence cost or availability:

  • Weekend Camping Reservations: Campsite 10, like other sites, can be reserved for weekend camping primarily by Scout troops, crews, and sometimes other approved organized groups. Pricing for these reservations would be based on the established facility use fees set by the Sam Houston Area Council.
  • Seasonal Programs: Camp Strake is well-known for hosting significant, structured programs like Summer Camp and Winter Camp. These are comprehensive, multi-day programs with set fees that typically include accommodation, meals, and a wide array of specialized activities and merit badge instruction. Enrolling in these programs is the primary way many individuals and groups experience the full breadth of the camp's offerings.
  • Group Rates for Larger Bookings: For larger groups, or for non-Scouting organizations seeking to utilize the camp's facilities for events, there may be specific tiered pricing or customized arrangements. These would need to be discussed directly with the Sam Houston Area Council.
  • Early Registration Incentives: For their large-scale, popular camps (e.g., Summer Camp, Winter Camp), there might be "early bird" pricing incentives for registrations completed well in advance. However, this applies to the program package as a whole, not just a standalone campsite rental.

To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding reservation availability, specific pricing for Campsite 10, or any potential offers related to programs at Camp Strake, the most reliable approach is to visit the official Sam Houston Area Council website (shacbsa.org) and navigate to the Camp Strake section, or to contact their reservations department directly. Nice campsite but a bit of a hike to the other facilities and main areas of the camp. Would have preferred to have been a bit closer in but you cannot have everything. Enjoyed the week and would have been nicer if the weather was a little cooler. I will take the lack of mosquitoes due to the dry spell we are having as a major plus even with the overly hot days.
