Promotions or Special Offers:
Clearwater Lake Recreation, being a campground within the Ocala National Forest (managed by the U.S. Forest Service), typically operates on a standardized fee structure rather than offering frequent, commercial-style promotions. However, there are ways Floridians can find value or potential discounts:
- America the Beautiful – National Parks & Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series: While not a direct campground discount, certain passes (like the Annual Pass, Senior Pass, Access Pass) can sometimes reduce or waive entrance fees to federal recreation sites, which might be applicable to day-use fees if not already covered by camping fees. Always inquire if your pass offers any benefits at this specific site.
- Long-Term Stay Options: For some federal campgrounds, there might be slight reductions for extended stays (e.g., weekly rates vs. daily rates), though this varies.
- Off-Season Rates: While not always formally advertised, sometimes rates might fluctuate slightly during less popular times of the year.
The best approach for Floridians looking for current rates, availability, and any potential specific offers would be to contact Clearwater Lake Recreation directly at (352) 669-0078. They can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding fees and any applicable federal recreation pass benefits.

Customer Reviews
I love this place! Bathrooms are clean, the premises are clean and the lake is beautiful!!! There is a great MTB trail and hiking trail just outside the front gate! You do need to check for ticks periodically, but you are camping outside in woodsy area ... its expected!! Highly recommend!! Site 15 & 13 are one of our favs!
My husband and I absolutely loved this campground! The lake views were the best! Nice 1.2 mile hiking trail around the lake. Clean bathrooms with showers. It was pure happiness there! They offer wood, ice and stickers for sale. You can rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for rent. No electric and water pickets through out campgrounds. We meet the hosts Jerry & Tari, very nice people. We will definitely be back at this hidden gem!
Let me start off with saying I've been camping here for years , since my son was 7 yrs old, and because it was it was my favorite campground, but years ago it was very well kept , the sites were cleaned minutes after people left the bathrooms were spotless , even the bear boxes eere blown out with a leaf blower and firepits were cleaned out and raked . The management was also great back then , but now , the male "camp host" that's there now seems to have some issues with people and not fixing or cleaning bathhouses, they're filthy , broken toilet seats covered in crap and broken stall latches hanging on by one lose screw that I tightened with a key, the walls and floors are filthy and reak of urine , they haven't been touched by bleach Ina long . Last year the same camp host guy , saw me walk by his camper on the second loop , I waved , he was sitting talking to another man and he just looked at me and I kept walking , he hops on his cart and comes up next to me and asks me if Im staying there ,says they have people sneaking in , and asks who I'm staying with , what I'm driving, I was 53 last year camping solo ,I was pissed but I just blew it off. This year I brought my son ,now 20 on our last camping trip before he leaves for the Army, my son was sitting on my $1400 kayak that I trailered in and the camp host saw us as we were unloading in out site, so he goes up to my son while he's by himself and asks if he stole someone's firewood and asks him what site he was in . I don't know what the guy's problem is but they need to get someone else in there, he has issues , we left early because we went there to relax and that was ruined because he pissed me off , my son said he didn't care but there's was no reason to hassle him or myself before. I'll probably find another campground if you don't want to pay too much for campsites and firewood and you don't want to smell urine and get hassled by that guy.
Let me start off with, I started camping here in 2015 when Doug and Jill were the host it was beautifully maintained bathrooms were cleaned twice a day camp sites were mowed. I booked a site June 6th weekend, It was horrible bathrooms were disgusting, campsites were not mowed so ticks were bad it has really gone down, It is a beautiful place but for the money you spend to camp it needs to be maintained! Please fix the situation for future campers I will not be returning.
Excellent camping experience, great hosts and super friendly atmosphere.
