Location and Accessibility

Country Bend Campground is conveniently located at 3279 Honey Bend Ave, Litchfield, IL 62056, USA. Litchfield is a city situated in Montgomery County, Illinois, known for its friendly atmosphere and access to major transportation routes. The campground's address places it in a rural setting, offering the tranquility often sought by campers, while still being accessible from larger urban centers in Illinois.

Its proximity to major highways, though not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, is implied by its suitability for "traveling through" guests. This suggests that it's an easy stop for those on longer road trips across Illinois or neighboring states. The overall accessibility to the campground is enhanced by its clear address on Honey Bend Ave.

A significant feature related to accessibility and security is the controlled entry system. As one reviewer noted, "another key feature is the security as you need to have a card to gain access to the campground which is nice." This adds a layer of reassurance for guests, knowing that access to the grounds is managed, contributing to a safer and more private environment.

One aspect of the location that visitors should be aware of is the presence of nearby train tracks. A review mentioned "the trains coming through and blowing their horns (close and loud) from 7 am to 11 pm." While this might be a minor inconvenience for some, especially those sensitive to noise, it is a factual detail of the locale that can be managed with earplugs or by choosing a site further away from the tracks if available. Despite the trains, the overall consensus remains positive, with the reviewer stating, "I would stay again!"

This campground is huge. Beautiful trees and scenery, several ponds, pool, playgrounds, jump pad cabins and lots of activities put on by the owners. Only thing is campsites are very close (cozy) so if you like being close to your neighbor then not a problem. Also another key feature is the security as you need to have a card to gain access to the campground which is nice. Owners were friendly and great to work with. Highly recommend this campground.

We called last minute and just wanted to stay an overnight as we were traveling through. The staff was courteous and helpful. They put us in a pull through site with electric and water. Even gave us a discount. Only $48! The grounds are well kept and busy with lots of activity. The only negative was the trains coming through and blowing their horns (close and loud) from 7 am to 11 pm. I would stay again!

We stayed here for a week in April. It was quiet, as we were the only ones in the area in which we stayed. Kate and Jeff were very candid, that the sites have trees and recommended site 111 with FHU and best open sky for satellites. I work remote and our Starlink is flat mounted on our 45' coach. The site was long enough for our coach and toad. We enjoyed evening walks, beautiful sunsets and the peaceful well maintained grounds. The only con is it's very close to train tracks, with trains rolling through the night. We turned our fan to high to drown out the noise and by the 4th night, we weren't hearing them any more. We'd definitely return. The park is only 7 miles back to town, with Walmart and other shopping, as well as the historic Ariston Cafe, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

It's a nice park but not big rig friendly. I know the rain is not there fault but very soft narrow roads, not much gravel. Map shows loops to get out and they were roped off, so you have to figure out another way.

For transients who were offered better, it's ok. Google Maps: it's not a hotel. It's an RV campground. On our way out west, as the day progressed we found this based on a Google Maps rating, which for restaurants is very good. The phone reservation process was a snap. We arrived after hours in mid October and our assignment was taped to the check in building door. It appears there are nicer spots for the longer stay campers. Ones like us who said we wanted to be away from other campers take the less desirable spots. I can't blame them. Even so, it's wooded and clean. There is a very nice playground and when offered spots near other campers, next time we should take them.
