We spent four nights at Wilderness Road Campground. The campground is beautiful with lots of trails. It is a short drive into Cumberland Gap, which was a sweet town with welcoming people. Things to note: -Very nice and clean showers and bathrooms. Multiple options near campsites. -For tent campers be aware that many of the tent sites are small and not flat. A small tent is recommended for most sites, but we were able to use our large tent by switching sites with my brother and sister in law who had a pop up and leveling blocks. Some of the sites were spacious and others tiny. -One side has considerable road noise, but the rest of the campsite was quiet. -There is wood for sale at the campsite, but we never found anyone who worked there and bought wood from down the road. -We only saw a campground host once during our stay, he drove by on a golf cart. However, on Saturday there did seem to be someone manning check-ins. - Many trails and tourist spots within an easy drive. -clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay.
May 26, 2025 · Lisa Wright BurbachWe are about 2 hour drive from here this is our first time that we stayed and we stayed on site C6 most of the sites in C-section and b section are electrical.. when you connect to the electricity in the box has both 30 and 50 amps to plug into. We loved this place it is quiet and big spaces between other campers dog friendly. We are senior citizen age and we walked some of the area. The rangers are very friendly and helpful. A big shout out to ranger Sam. This definitely is our go to area. We will be back a highly recommended to anyone. We are in a c model , but there's others with bigger rigs some are big and wide camping areas.
May 30, 2025 · Melissa GreggWriting this at the picnic table! Very well-maintained campground in a beautiful area. I’m sure it fills up during the summer but we’re here on 4/20 and about 1/5 of spots are occupied. D35 is a lovely tent camping site with lots of room to spread out! Bathrooms and facilities were super clean and it was so refreshing to splash my face with warm water. No mosquitos yet this time of year yay! but there is poison ivy so be careful.
Apr 20, 2025 · Hannah SiskNo rooms this is a campgroud. Very nice sites. Do not veer off edge of pad however, Poison ivy everywhere. Camp host very helpful. We only stayed for 1 night. The listing is clear, and site specific, some sites are steep or uncomfortably not flat. I reserved one that we could not use. The host was able to switch the site for us. We were very happy with our stay.
May 05, 2025 · Theresa ScottOutstanding National Park campground. Whether RV or tent, sites are thoughtfully laid out and not on top of each other. Nice bathroom and showers. Clean and great short or long hikes. Be sire to drive up to Pinnacle Overlook nearby and walk up the paved trail.
