Green Acres RV Park Florida LLC About

Hey there, Florida RV enthusiasts and peace-seekers! Are you looking for a quiet, spacious, and well-maintained spot to park your rig in North Florida? Green Acres RV Park Florida LLC in McAlpin might just be the hidden gem you’ve been searching for. This newer RV park, nestled in a country setting, offers a serene alternative to the bustling, amenity-packed resorts, focusing instead on providing comfortable, full-hookup sites with plenty of room to breathe.

For Floridians who own self-contained RVs and appreciate a more laid-back atmosphere, Green Acres RV Park offers a unique experience. While it emphasizes tranquility over a long list of recreational facilities, it prides itself on its clean, spacious sites and a welcoming environment, often highlighted by its friendly resident animals like turkeys, chickens, and cats. If you’re passing through or planning a longer stay to explore the natural beauty of North Florida, particularly the renowned springs and the Suwannee River area, Green Acres RV Park provides a solid, peaceful base. Let's dive into what makes this park a noteworthy option for your next Florida adventure.

Location and Accessibility

Green Acres RV Park Florida LLC is located at 14833 US-129, McAlpin, FL 32062, USA. This places the park in a rural part of North Florida, specifically in Suwannee County. Its location off US-129 means it's generally easy to access, particularly for RVers traveling through the region.

A key advantage of its location for Florida residents is its strategic positioning relative to major interstates. The park is situated approximately 10 miles south of Interstate 10 (I-10) and about 20 miles west of Interstate 75 (I-75), just south of Live Oak, FL. This makes it a convenient stopover for those on longer journeys across the panhandle or heading up/down the state. While it offers a "secluded area" feel, it's also only about 10 miles from Live Oak, which provides essential services such as a Walmart, gas stations, grocery stores, and various dining options. For Floridians looking to explore the region's famous springs, such as the Suwannee River and Ichetucknee Springs State Park, the park serves as a good central point, allowing for day trips to these popular natural attractions. The "very little road noise at night" contributes to the peaceful ambiance, making it ideal for a restful stay.

Services Offered

  • Full Hook-up RV Sites: The park provides 28 to 38 (sources vary) large, oversized RV sites with 20, 30, and 50 AMP electric service, water hookups, and sewer connections at each pad. Sites are often described as spacious gravel or grass, offering plenty of room for slide-outs and outdoor relaxation.

  • Wi-Fi / Fiber Internet: Free Wi-Fi is available, with some sources specifying "fiber internet," indicating a strong and reliable connection for guests to stay connected.

  • Pet-Friendly Environment: Green Acres RV Park explicitly welcomes pets. They have a fenced dog park (KampK9®) and generally allow dogs on a 6 ft leash, provided owners clean up after them. Specific rules regarding aggressive breeds or unattended pets are in place.

  • Quiet Country Setting: The park offers a peaceful country setting, designed for those who appreciate tranquility and less noise, a direct result of its rural location and the absence of extensive amenities.

  • Long-Term Stays: The park seems to accommodate longer-term residents, with reviews mentioning "many, long term people here," suggesting it's suitable for extended stays. Monthly rates are typically available.

  • Fire Rings & Picnic Tables: Many sites are equipped with fire rings and picnic tables for outdoor dining and campfires.

  • Trash Dumpster: A central trash dumpster is available near the entrance for resident use.

  • Friendly Animals: A unique "service" or feature noted by guests is the presence of friendly turkeys, chickens, and cats that roam the property, adding to the rural charm and offering an interactive experience, especially for children.

  • Self-Contained RVs Preferred: It's important to note that the park is best suited for "self-contained" RVs, as there are no public bathhouses or laundry facilities on site. This is a crucial detail for potential visitors.

Features / Highlights

  • Spacious, Oversized Sites: A recurring highlight is the generous size of the RV sites, providing ample personal space and allowing campers to extend awnings without feeling cramped by neighbors. This is a significant advantage for larger rigs and those seeking privacy.

  • Peaceful & Quiet Atmosphere: The park excels at providing a serene environment. Visitors consistently praise the lack of noise, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation and unwinding.

  • Newer & Well-Maintained: Despite being a relatively new park (opened a couple of years ago), it is generally described as very clean and well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant stay. Good Sam ratings confirm high scores for cleanliness and visual appeal.

  • Friendly Ownership/Management (Mixed Review): While one review notes an initial meeting with the owner and then no further contact, another specifically praises "Tom and Sue" as "the best," highlighting their flexibility and support during Hurricane Helene. This suggests a potentially caring management team, though the level of interaction might vary.

  • Animal Residents: The unique presence of friendly turkeys, chickens, and cats roaming the grounds adds a charming, rustic, and often entertaining element to the stay, especially appealing to animal lovers and families.

  • Convenient to Major Routes & Local Town: Its balance between a secluded setting and proximity to I-10, I-75, and the town of Live Oak offers the best of both worlds – peace without complete isolation from necessities.

  • Adaptability for Emergency Situations: The example of accommodating many campers during Hurricane Helene, honoring weekly rates, and opening up a field for boondocking demonstrates the owners' flexibility and helpfulness in unforeseen circumstances.

We stayed here four nights while visiting friends in the area. The owner met us at our drivers window, when we pulled up, directed us to our site # and we never saw him again nor his wife, ever. In fact, not one person spoke to us in four days. We went outside hoping to meet someone, anyone. The turkeys and chickens and cat came to see us often, which we loved. Our cats were especially interested. There were, what seemed to be many, long term people here. We were surrounded by several young Hispanic families with small adorable children. If you want a quiet no contact place to stay, this is perfect. If you’re a people person that loves to connect with others, not so much. There are no amenities at all. No public bathroom. No laundry. No events building. I see that this place opened two years ago? I see no expansion projects in progress. I am saying all of this in truth, not to complain. We’re just passing through and will most likely never return, so we wouldn’t stay here in the future anyway. I will say that the Tom Turkey is beautiful and unique. His head and neck look like something out of Star Wars. 🤣 The black and white cat was very friendly and well fed. She wasn’t interested in sharing Temptation treats with our cats. The chickens liked them more.

Due to Hurricane Helene, we hunkered down at Green Acres on the way to Tampa and ended up staying 7 nights when Tampa had widespread power outages. Tom and Sue were the best! We couldn’t tell them when we would be leaving and they let us and many others stay until we could safely go. They still honored their weekly rate and, once full, even opened their large field for anyone who wanted to boon dock. Sites were spacious with full hookups, plenty of grass and very clean. Nice, fenced dog park and there are turkeys and chickens for the kids to see. Very little road noise at night. It feels like a secluded area, but is only 10 miles from Live Oak (Walmart, gas, etc). It’s best if you are self-contained as there is no bath house or laundry at the campground yet.

Very well kept and maintained, RV lots are large and spacious. A nice and quiet RV park where RVs are not on top of each other you have room to relax and enjoy your stay. Plenty of attractions in the local area and convenient location off of State Rd 129 and only a few minutes from interstate 75.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet! Tom & Sue are very gracious hosts also! Very accommodating! We loved that the turkeys, and chickens free range, always came to visit and definitely humanize, come right up to you, loved it and be able to visit our site. Would definitely stay again, and we highly recommend this campground for anyone traveling up and down US Hwy 129. Live Oak is a short ride, has what you would need. Thank you for our enjoyable stay!

An impromptu trip to McAlpin, FL to work on our property 5 minutes away from this hidden new little gem, Green Acres Campground owned and operated by the nicest folks, Tom and Sue. Spacious sites with lots of room. Minutes from a few rivers and springs. Quiet and quaint setting. Until our property is ready, we definitely will be spending time here along with friends and family. Love it!!
