Location and Accessibility

Lafon's RV Parks is strategically located at 5144 Co Rd 437, Princeton, TX 75407, USA. This address places it in the burgeoning city of Princeton, a community within Collin County that has experienced significant growth in recent years. Princeton offers a appealing blend of small-town atmosphere and increasing access to urban conveniences, making it an attractive location for both short-term visitors and long-term residents.

The park's position on County Road 437 ensures good accessibility for RVs of all sizes, allowing for relatively easy ingress and egress. For those traveling on major Texas highways, reaching the park is straightforward. Princeton is well-connected to significant thoroughfares in North Texas, notably U.S. Route 380, a key east-west corridor. This highway provides direct links to larger cities such as McKinney, Denton, and the sprawling Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. This connectivity is a significant advantage for RVers, whether they are commuting for work, heading out for shopping, or exploring the vast array of attractions in the region. The approximately 25-30 minute drive to Dallas, as noted by a reviewer, underscores its convenient proximity to a major metropolitan center while still offering a quieter environment.

Beyond regional access, the immediate vicinity around Lafon's RV Parks offers practical amenities. Major grocery chains, various restaurants, auto parts stores, and even specialized retailers like Tractor Supply (convenient for propane refills) are typically within a 10-minute drive. For outdoor enthusiasts or those seeking leisure activities, a Cabela's store is also noted to be nearby, offering opportunities for "therapy," as one reviewer humorously put it. This combination of peaceful surroundings and convenient access to essential services and recreational opportunities makes Lafon's RV Parks a well-situated choice for RVers in Texas.

Services Offered

Lafon's RV Parks provides a range of services designed to ensure a comfortable and practical stay for its residents. Based on common RV park standards and customer feedback, these likely include:

  • Full Hookups: Each RV site is equipped with essential full hookups, typically including connections for electricity (with common options like 30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer. This ensures that residents have all necessary utilities for their RV.
  • Metered Electricity with Credit: The park operates on a metered electricity system, but with a unique benefit: the first $50 of electricity consumption is credited, meaning residents only pay for usage beyond that amount. This helps manage utility costs, which is a significant advantage, especially for longer stays.
  • Water Connection Management: The park is proactive in managing water connections, especially during freezing weather. They provide advance notice (3-4 days prior to a freeze event) and will disconnect uninsulated or un-heat-traced water hoses as a necessity to prevent damage, demonstrating a commitment to property preservation and resident safety.
  • Office Staff Support: The office staff is consistently described as kind, courteous, and helpful, suggesting a focus on good customer service and responsiveness to resident needs.
  • Clean and Quiet Environment: The park prioritizes maintaining a clean and quiet atmosphere, which is a key service for residents seeking a peaceful living experience.
  • Long-Term and Short-Term Stays: The park accommodates both extended stays (several months at a time, as noted by a reviewer) and likely shorter-term visits, offering flexibility for different travel needs.
Features / Highlights

Lafon's RV Parks offers several features that enhance the living experience for its residents, focusing on practicality and comfort:

  • Consistent Affordability: While rent may see occasional increases, a reviewer noted that in five years, the rent increased only once by $50, which is considered comparable to other safe parks in the area. This suggests a commitment to maintaining reasonable pricing.
  • Transparent Electricity Billing: The metered electricity system with a $50 credit provides transparency and helps residents manage their utility expenses effectively, often resulting in manageable monthly power bills.
  • Proactive Freeze Protection: The park's policy of providing advance warning and actively assisting with water hose disconnection during freezing temperatures is a highly practical and courteous feature, preventing costly damage to RVs and connections. The staff even kindly rolled up an old hose for one resident.
  • Quiet Atmosphere: Despite being an RV park where people might move in and out, the park is consistently described as quiet, even in the early morning hours, which is a significant highlight for those valuing peace and tranquility.
  • Responsive and Courteous Staff: A consistent highlight is the positive interaction with office staff, who are described as kind, courteous, and helpful, contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Cleanliness: The park is noted for its cleanliness, indicating that the management prioritizes the upkeep of the property.
  • Convenient Access to Amenities: Its location provides easy and quick access to a wide range of major grocery chains, restaurants, auto parts stores, and recreational outlets like Cabela's, all within a short driving distance.

I'm quite sure the evicted people probably needed to be evicted. I've stayed here off and on for extended periods (4 - 10 months at a time) for the past 5 years for work. The office staff is always kind, courteous, and helpful. The park is clean and always quiet. I've stayed at all three parks and never had a bad experience. The comment about the rent increasing annually by $50 each year is false. In the past 5 years the rent went up once by $50 which is comparable to all parks I've checked in the area that I would feel safe staying at. The metered electricity seems reasonable. I stayed at another park nearby the first time I was up there and had to pay all electricity which was about $90 - $100 a month. This park credits the first $50 to your electricity. My power bill at the park runs $45 - $50 a month which would be inline with the previous park with no credit. Not sure why someone would complain about other people getting up and leaving early. This happens at any park. I stay in parks around the country for fishing trips. I hear people leaving from 5 AM till 8 AM all morning every morning so this complaint isn't legit either. There's actually less noise in the early morning hours here. They're strict about the water in the winter for good reason. It freezes up there people. If your connection hoses aren't insulated and heat traced they'll disconnect your water hose. They actually will put a note on your door 3-4 days prior to a freeze event as a reminder. This isn't mean or rude, it's a NECESSITY!!! people. Grow up. Even an insulated line at low teens to single digit temps will freeze if it's not heat traced. Spend the $30 and get a heat trace line and quit complaining. I would be thankful if they disconnected mine. I had an older hose go bad on me just before a freeze, disconnected it and hooked up a new one. Left the old one laying next to the new one. When I got back to the RV that evening they had gone around checking everyone's hose for insulation and heat tracing kindly rolled up my old hose and placed it under the RV. I'd say that's pretty dang courteous. You're 10 minutes from major grocery chains, restaurants, auto parts stores, Tractor supply (for propane), Cabela's (for therapy), and only about 25 - 30 minutes from Dallas. For an RV park I'd say that's pretty convenient.

Owners are racial prejudice and do not follow the laws when it comes to evictions. They sneakily force people out in 4 days on a holiday weekend rather than 30 days after the tenants were fully paid up and lived there for 2 years simply bc the owners didn’t like them. They also break into people’s homes and destroy them forcing family’s into the Texas heat unsheltered . If you’re looking for a safe shelter that behaves within the confines of the law, DO NOT COME HERE or you two could end up homeless and your rv destroyed beyond use within a weekend. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE unless your a white wealthy family

Made a reservation one month out for Labor Day weekend, we arrived on Sunday afternoon and nobody was in the office. Called all three numbers available and nobody answered my multiple calls. We parked in an empty spot and plugged, no power and our rv was reading 90+. Had to stay in a hotel for two nights and continued to try to get a hold of someone. Tuesday morning (after the holiday weekend) I got ahold of someone in the office and she said the electric box was fine, that it was our surge protector. Ended up the electric box needed to be replaced, not our surge protector! The people in the office were very apologetic and made sure to not charge us for the two nights we couldn’t sleep in our rv. The lot was clean but noisy with trucks leaving at 7am to work. Would not stay here again but made the best of it.

This place is GREAT! The staff. The lots. Everything is great! Laundry on site. No showers or bathrooms but as long as you don't NEED them, it is NOT a problem. Mr. And Mrs. Lafon are two of the most genuinely kind people I have ever met! Stay for a day or for a lifetime! You'll love it here!!
