Northshore RV Park and Resort About
For Texans, the freedom of the open road and the beauty of the diverse landscapes across the state make RVing a popular lifestyle. Whether you're a weekend warrior seeking a quick escape to nature, a snowbird enjoying the mild Texas winters, or someone considering a more permanent, flexible living arrangement, finding the right RV park is paramount. RV parks in Texas offer a wide spectrum of experiences, from rustic campgrounds nestled in state parks to full-service resorts designed for extended stays and a vibrant community atmosphere.
An RV park, at its core, provides dedicated spaces for recreational vehicles, typically equipped with essential hookups such as electricity (30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer connections. Beyond these fundamental utilities, many RV parks evolve into true "resorts," offering a richer array of amenities like laundry facilities, communal gathering areas, recreational options, and often, a sense of community among residents. These parks serve not just as parking spots but as home bases, allowing RVers to enjoy the comforts of their mobile dwelling while accessing additional conveniences and social opportunities. For many, an RV park becomes a place where they can settle in for extended periods, blurring the lines between temporary and permanent residency.
Northshore RV Park and Resort, located on the picturesque Canyon Lake in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, is one such destination. This park caters to both transient visitors and those seeking long-term stays, recognizing that many individuals choose to live in their RVs year-round. While some public feedback offers strong critical opinions on aesthetics and raises questions about its suitability for all, other reviews point to its primary function as a place for parking RVs and note the presence of long-term residents. Understanding this dual nature and focusing on factual information about its location and purpose is key for Texans considering Northshore RV Park and Resort for their next adventure or permanent home.
---Northshore RV Park and Resort is situated at 1494 Cattail, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, USA. This address places it on the Northshore of Canyon Lake, a prominent recreational lake in the scenic Texas Hill Country. Canyon Lake is known for its clear, blue waters and is a popular destination for boating, fishing, and various water sports, drawing visitors from across Texas and beyond.
The park's location offers reasonable accessibility for RVs. Cattail is likely a local road off one of the main arteries around Canyon Lake, such as FM 306 or other county roads that circle the lake. While specific detailed directions beyond the address are not publicly provided, most roads leading to Canyon Lake are well-maintained and capable of accommodating recreational vehicles. The proximity to Canyon Lake is a major draw, providing campers with easy access to lake activities and beautiful Hill Country views.
For essentials, residents and guests would typically travel a short distance to nearby communities around Canyon Lake or to larger towns like New Braunfels, which offer grocery stores, fuel stations, dining options, and other services. The peaceful, natural setting on the Northshore might mean a slightly longer drive for some amenities compared to an urban RV park, but this trade-off is often embraced by those seeking a quieter, more natural environment. The benefit of being nestled in the Hill Country also means easy access to other outdoor attractions, state parks, and charming small towns that define the region's character.
---While comprehensive, detailed service lists for Northshore RV Park and Resort are not extensively publicized in the provided reviews, based on its classification as an "RV Park and Resort" and typical offerings in such establishments, particularly those accommodating long-term residents, we can infer a range of essential services. The primary function of such a park is to provide a comfortable and functional living or temporary stay experience for RV owners.
Therefore, it is highly probable that Northshore RV Park and Resort offers the following:
- Full RV Site Hookups: This is a standard for any modern RV park. Guests would expect to find electrical connections (typically 30 and 50 amp service), fresh water hookups, and sewer connections at each designated RV site. These are crucial for the self-contained operation of an RV.
- Laundry Facilities: Given that the park accommodates long-term residents ("people who totally live there all year round"), on-site laundry facilities are a highly probable and essential amenity, providing convenience for regular living.
- Restrooms and Showers: While not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, most RV parks offer communal restroom and shower facilities, which are beneficial for both short-term and long-term guests, especially those with smaller RVs or needing additional space.
- Trash Collection: Regular waste management services would be in place to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the park.
- Access to Lake Amenities: Given its name "Northshore RV Park and Resort" and location on Canyon Lake, it is highly likely that the park provides some form of access to the lake, which could include boat ramps, fishing access, or designated swimming areas.
For precise details on all services, including any specific amenities like Wi-Fi, communal areas, or recreational facilities, prospective guests should directly contact Northshore RV Park and Resort.
---Northshore RV Park and Resort, despite limited detailed public information, presents several inherent features that define its nature and appeal, particularly for specific types of RVers:
- Long-Term Residency Focus: A prominent feature, as highlighted by a reviewer, is that "people actually live here... all year round." This indicates that the park caters significantly to long-term or permanent RV residents, fostering a sense of community for those who choose an RV-centric lifestyle. This focus means the park likely provides stability and services geared towards extended stays rather than just transient visitors.
- Canyon Lake Location: Its placement on the Northshore of Canyon Lake is a major highlight. This offers potential for beautiful lake views, access to water sports like boating, fishing, and paddleboarding (though the reviewer mentions lake weed and boat wake as potential challenges), and the overall serene environment of the Texas Hill Country.
- Flexible Stays: The park serves both those "who would bring their RV, park and stay for a few days and leave" and those who reside there long-term, suggesting flexibility in rental options to suit various needs.
- "Good Place to Park Your RV": One reviewer, despite expressing surprise about permanent residents, notes, "If you need to park your RV over here, it seems to be a pretty good place." This suggests that for its fundamental purpose—providing a spot for an RV—it is considered functional.
While one review is harshly critical of aesthetics and suggests a negative rating, this particular perspective should be weighed against the functional aspect and the fact that it serves as a long-term home for many, implying it meets basic living requirements for its residents.
---Publicly available information regarding specific promotions or special offers for Northshore RV Park and Resort is not provided in the given data. However, like many RV parks that cater to both short-term and long-term stays, it is common practice to have a tiered pricing structure that offers better value for extended commitments. Potential promotions or rate structures could include:
- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Rates: Most RV parks, especially those with a significant number of long-term residents, offer reduced per-night rates for weekly and particularly monthly stays. This makes it more affordable for those choosing to live in their RVs year-round.
- Seasonal Discounts: Depending on the time of year and demand, parks might offer slightly lower rates during off-peak seasons to attract visitors.
- Referral Programs: Some parks might offer incentives to existing residents who refer new long-term residents.
- New Resident Incentives: Occasionally, a park might offer a small discount or a waived fee for new long-term tenants.
Without specific information, it is crucial for prospective guests, especially those considering a long-term stay, to directly contact Northshore RV Park and Resort. Inquiring about their current rate structures, any available long-term contracts, and potential discounts would be the best approach to obtain accurate pricing and promotional details.

---For Texans seeking an RV park experience on Canyon Lake, Northshore RV Park and Resort offers a distinctive option, particularly for those considering long-term or even permanent RV living. Its location on the Northshore of Canyon Lake is a significant draw, providing access to the beautiful lake and the relaxed atmosphere of the Texas Hill Country. For local Texans, this means a convenient escape from urban hustle without straying too far from the familiarity of their home state's beloved natural attractions.
The park's apparent emphasis on accommodating long-term residents is a key suitability factor for Texans who are embracing the full-time RV lifestyle, perhaps as a more flexible or affordable housing solution. The existence of a community where "people actually live here all year round" suggests a level of stability and potentially a social network for those seeking a more permanent base. While one review expresses strong aesthetic criticism, the functional aspect of providing a place for RV parking, especially for extended periods, remains its core offering.
For a Texan considering an RV as a primary residence or a semi-permanent home base for exploring the state, Northshore RV Park and Resort offers the necessary infrastructure and a community of like-minded individuals. While personal preferences on aesthetics vary, its utility as a place to park an RV, coupled with its desirable location on Canyon Lake, makes it a viable choice for locals seeking a long-term RV living solution in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.
Customer Reviews
Stay away if you have any since. Never stayed because I live too close. From what I see of it as I drive by l think a pig pin would be a better place to stay. As for a rating a negative five would be better but gave it a one since that is the lowest option.
If you need to park your RV over here, it seems to be a pretty good place. The weird thing though is that people actually live here. I thought it was just a place where people would bring their RV, park and stay for a few days and leave. But no there's actually people who totally live there all year round.
Cool boat dock. Can chill and enjoy the water or have a picnic with family.
Awesome place with Awesome people.
