Oakhill Mobile Home Park About

For West Virginia locals exploring housing options that blend affordability with a sense of community, mobile home parks often present a practical choice. Today, we're focusing on Oakhill Mobile Home Park, an established community located in the historic and scenic area of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. This article is crafted to provide a clear, factual, and engaging overview of what Oakhill Mobile Home Park offers, designed specifically for you, a local user in the Mountain State.

Oakhill Mobile Home Park functions as a residential community providing individual lots for manufactured homes. These types of communities are an important part of the housing landscape in West Virginia, offering a pathway to homeownership that can be more accessible than traditional stick-built homes. While public feedback provides insights into both the positive aspects of community spirit and some environmental considerations, the park fundamentally offers a structured environment for mobile home living. Our aim here is to present the publicly available information about Oakhill Mobile Home Park to help you make an informed decision as you consider your potential new home in Harpers Ferry.

Oakhill Mobile Home Park enjoys a scenic and convenient location in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. You'll find the park situated at 3 Oak Hill Ct, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425, USA. This address places it within Jefferson County, an area renowned for its rich history, outdoor recreational opportunities, and proximity to major regional hubs.

The accessibility of Oakhill Mobile Home Park is a notable advantage for residents. Harpers Ferry is well-connected by major roadways, including US Route 340, which provides direct access to nearby cities such as Charles Town and Brunswick, Maryland, as well as relatively easy commutes to larger employment centers like Frederick, MD, and parts of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. This makes it a practical location for those who commute for work or seek services beyond the immediate Harpers Ferry vicinity. While the park is described as being "surrounded by the woods," which contributes to a natural setting, it remains accessible to Harpers Ferry's local amenities. These include historical sites, local shops, dining options, and access points for outdoor activities like hiking and river recreation. However, as noted in reviews, the wooded surroundings also bring wildlife, such as bobcats, which is an important consideration for pet owners and families with young children, especially concerning outdoor safety at night. For most errands and commuting, personal transportation would be essential, as public transit in this more rural-suburban area of West Virginia is limited. The blend of natural surroundings with reasonable access to services makes Oakhill Mobile Home Park an interesting option for those seeking a home in this part of West Virginia.

As a mobile home park, Oakhill Mobile Home Park provides the fundamental services and infrastructure necessary for residents to place and comfortably live in their manufactured homes. While a highly detailed list of services isn't extensively available in public reviews, typical offerings for such communities generally include:

  • Lot Rentals: The primary service is the provision of individual land lots for residents to site their mobile or manufactured homes. This allows for homeownership while renting the specific plot of land.
  • Utility Connections: Residents typically have access to hookups for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity at their individual lots. It is generally the resident's responsibility to establish accounts with and pay directly to the utility providers.
  • Internal Road Maintenance: The park management is usually responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the internal roadways within the community, ensuring accessibility for residents and emergency services.
  • Basic Recreational Amenities: As noted in a review, the park provides some recreational facilities, specifically a basketball court and normal swings. While not extensive, these offer some basic options for outdoor activity within the park premises.
  • Community Management: There is an administrative or management presence that oversees the park's operations, enforces community rules, and addresses resident concerns, contributing to the overall structure and order of the living environment.

Oakhill Mobile Home Park offers several features and highlights that contribute to its appeal, particularly for West Virginia residents seeking a specific type of living arrangement. However, it's also important to consider all aspects, including those highlighted in public feedback.

  • Affordable Lot Rent: A significant highlight mentioned in a review is that the "lot rent isn't too high." This suggests that Oakhill Mobile Home Park offers a comparatively affordable option for lot rental, which is a major factor in the overall cost of mobile home living and makes it an accessible choice for many.
  • Close-Knit Community: Reviews indicate a strong sense of community within the park, where "people here help one another when needed" and it's described as a "pretty close community." This supportive environment is a major draw for those seeking a neighborhood feel.
  • Residential Setting: The park provides a quiet, residential atmosphere, appealing to those looking for a peaceful home environment away from the hustle and bustle of larger urban centers.
  • Natural Surroundings: Being "surrounded by the woods" offers a connection to nature, which can be appealing for those who enjoy a more natural environment.
  • Basic Recreational Facilities: The presence of a basketball court and swings provides some on-site options for outdoor activities, particularly for older children.
  • Individual Home Ownership: Residents own their manufactured homes, providing them with personal property and the flexibility to customize their living space, while the lot itself is rented.
  • Harpers Ferry Location: The park's location in Harpers Ferry offers residents access to a historic and scenic area with various outdoor recreational opportunities and a unique small-town charm.

Based on the publicly available information, there are no specific, advertised promotions or special offers for Oakhill Mobile Home Park. This is a common practice for many established mobile home parks, where the primary focus is often on the consistent rental of lots rather than short-term promotional campaigns. The most significant "offer" is typically the availability of a lot at a competitive rate.

However, it is always highly recommended for prospective residents to directly contact the management of Oakhill Mobile Home Park to inquire about any current availability, specific rental terms, and any potential incentives that might be available. While direct promotions may not be widely publicized, it's possible that:

  • They may have current vacancies that are not extensively advertised elsewhere.
  • They can provide the most up-to-date and accurate information on current lot rent costs.
  • They can clarify any application processes or requirements for new residents.

Direct communication with the park management at the provided contact details is the most effective way to explore all options and gather comprehensive information about living at Oakhill Mobile Home Park.

This is an okay place to live. Lot rent isn't too high. There is not much at all for younger children to do here. All they have is a basketball court and normal swings,no baby swings. This park IS surrounded by the woods. I used to live there and Bobcats were always snatching dogs out of yards. So be careful, especially at night. I was terrified for my kids to be outsideapne at all there.
