Customer Reviews
I spent two nights here in my 18-foot travel trailer. My spot was in a tree-free area with muddy ground from recent rains. I had to use chocks to level it, nothing unusual. All the hookups worked fine. The campground caters to families and kids, but I enjoyed a dip in the large, comfortable pool and used the excellent shower facilities. It’s conveniently located near the National Historical Park, which was my main reason for visiting. I highly recommend this beautiful area for a stay.
Spent 3 nights at the KOA and was very pleased. I had no complaints about how level the spot was - needed to use my ramps to go up about 2 inches - nothing out of the ordinary. The pool was heated and very large and clean. The bounce pad was in a prime location. They have an on-site store and wine/coffee bar, arcade, etc. Our family visited and they could easily get a parking spot for the day. I see lots of reviews saying the spots are very close together, but we didn't mind it - that's the vibe we were going for - the place had kids everywhere - but that's why we went. The location to Harper's Ferry and the Park can't be beat. Had consistent power and water - overall it was a wonderful time.
This is our “home” campground. Which just means if we want to camp, this is only a few hour drive and easy way to “get out there”. I’ve never had an issue, the grounds are always clean and well maintained. I noticed this year that they have repaired some roads with fresh blacktop which is nice. I assume they will continue the project in the fall once things start to wind down. Overall, it’s a great quiet campground that is nice for a little getaway.
Great location but not KOA quality! Very close to the Harper’s Ferry historic sites and nice reception building however the sites are lacking. They are extremely close together, not level and aren’t maintained. Access to the sites is challenging as the they are narrow. Privacy is lacking and fire pits are close to neighbors. Only 1 bathroom/shower shared for our whole area and it was untidy. Registration building is landscaped and everywhere else was mediocre. There were also issues with water runoff. The pancake breakfast, playground, chess, and camp store were perks and the pillow bounce wasn’t open during our visit. It’s fine for a stopover as it’s the only game in town.
Ideal location. Below KOA standards. We stayed here to visit Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, whose visitor center is right down the street and walkable if you're fit. Pay the park entrance fee or flash your pass and board a free bus to the historic downtown. This KOA sits on land with contours, but many similar RV parks manage their terrain more thoughtfully. Our gravel pull-through site could accommodate a Class A, but for our 25-foot-long rig, we could find no level space front to back or side to side. Also, the sites, at least in this section, are ridiculously close together, and many look junky, with the belongings of occupants scattered on the site. (see photo.) The laundry room, one of the largest I've encountered, appears to be under renovation, a good thing; most of the equipment was out of order.
