After weather predictions of heavy snow and ice in the south the third week in January 2025, we altered our travel plans to escape it all in Ocala. Of course last minute plans and requests and a Federal holiday made it a challenge to book anything online or even have a phone call answered everywhere we checked. The local Wal-Mart does not allow overnight parking. The Cracker Barrel was VERY full and as we pulled down the road from Cracker Barrel, we happened to see and simply pulled in to Ocala RV Resort at closing time. We were greeted with a YES and that we could finish up the details in the morning. We simply needed a place to stay and this became our rescue in the dark. The people were friendly. Wifi was available in the lounge if needed. It was cold and nothing else was on our list. We are grateful for this Park and the graciousness they extended when we were at the end if our rope.

This was just an overnight stop off interstate 75. We were heading to the Disney World Wilderness campground in Orlando, Florida. We have the "RV LIFE " app, so we can search for rv parks on our trips. Even though Ocala RV Camp Resort had several 1-star reviews, we didn't have much of a choice because several others in the area were full with the snowbirds. My wife called around 4:30 pm. and a recorded message said that they were out of the office, but there were several overnight full hookup campsites available, and it was a self check in. Well, we were glad that the lady on the message advised there were sites available. We got there about 5:30 pm (Easy access off I-75 on a service road). In the kiosh by the front door of the office were good simple instructions with a few envelopes with the site numbers on each one. All the sites were up front. Pick your site and fill out the check-in sheet in the envelope with payment, and slip it into the mail slot in the door. It was $54 with my "Good Sam: discount. We chose site #89. It was grass, but level. All the hookups worked, and we were happy to have a place to rest the night. It appears to be an old KOA. We were satisfied with our overnight stay, no complaints whatsoever. Showers worked fine with hot water. Other than road noise from the interstate (which we like ), it was peaceful. BTW... They had a lot of northerners camping through the winter, but they were in the back part of the campground. The reason for 4 stars instead of more or less is because we only stayed overnight. Happy Camping :)
