Customer Reviews
This is a pretty great small RV park located right on the edge of Orange Lake. The RV sites are spacious, and easy to pull in and out of. If you chose a spot near the road, you will have to deal with some road noise as there is a fair amount of heavy truck traffic that goes by. Towards the back of the park the road noise is blocked enough that you don’t really notice it. We really enjoyed the large grassy walking areas, both in the front of the park under the oak trees, and in the back of the park there is a short peninsula trail that brings you out to the lake for a better view. We thought the park was a good deal for the price we paid. Some things that could be improved is adding another washer are dryer. There is only one washer and one dryer currently for the entire park. They also could use some more lighting in the park at night. There was only one street lamp towards the front of the park, but when we were there it was malfunctioning and would cycle on and off every 30 seconds. I think the park could benefit from some small path lights to help illuminate the area just a bit without being overbearing. Especially near the wash house and along the interior of the park’s driveway as that’s where many people walk at night.
Great little park. Love the live oak trees with Spanish Moss for a backdrop. Great management (New since May 2023 and making huge improvements). Very quiet and clean. Facilities are kept extremely clean.
I didn't really want to do a Google Review because I don't want the secret to get out. But, even though we are from just literally down the street, in Ocala, we have found a local place for us to be able to get away when we can't necessarily get away. I'm still able to go to the office & work as needed & the wife can hang out & relax. Very nice little park (30 something sites) on Orange Lake with spacious sites (several are shady), clean bath house/restrooms & a super nice staff. The manager Marco & Joe the onsite Camp Host are always looking to make sure you are enjoying your stay. We will definitely be back & would love to plan a group trip with friends that want to get away but aren't able to get away. Word is that ice, lp gas, a store, & a dog park is all in the works. This little gem has literally only been open a couple months...
Great campground. Small in size (34 spaces), big on opportunities. Great Staff, level sites, large sites, full hookups, dog park and private boat ramp onto Orange Lake. So much to do in the area - biking (Hawthorne to Gainesville paved trail), hiking (Paynes Prairie Preserve), Gainesville - botanical gardens & Gator games, The Yearling - Marjorie Rawlings historic restaurant, Micanopy, McIntosh. A taste of Old Florida that should not be missed
Stayed here for a few nights and definitely a great experience. The amenities are top notch and boating was a blast. Such a pretty place to see Nature at its finest. Can’t wait to plan my next trip. So close to many other cool Florida sites as well. The Canyons and Devils Den are amongst many. Thanks Old Florida RV Resort!!!
