For military personnel, both active duty and retired, finding a dedicated and supportive place to stay when traveling can be a challenge. Parris Island RV Park, located within the iconic Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort, SC, provides a unique and tailored solution. This RV park is exclusively designed to serve the military community, offering a comfortable and convenient base for those visiting loved ones, attending graduations, or simply exploring the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina.
The Parris Island area is steeped in military history and surrounded by the serene natural beauty of coastal South Carolina. Parris Island RV Park aims to blend this historical significance with practical amenities for RV travelers. As highlighted by a satisfied camper, it's known for being "very clean, friendly campers, beautiful area to walk and relax," suggesting a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. However, it's also important to note that, as with any facility, there can be periods of maintenance or service interruptions, as reflected in some recent feedback regarding facilities.
This article will delve into the specifics of Parris Island RV Park, providing detailed information about its location, the services and features it offers, and crucially, the eligibility requirements for staying there. For local South Carolina military families and veterans, understanding this resource is key to planning a convenient and meaningful visit to this historically rich area.
Parris Island RV Park is not just a place to park your RV; it's a part of the larger MCCS (Marine Corps Community Services) network, specifically designed to support military personnel and their families. This exclusive access creates a unique community environment, often praised for its camaraderie and sense of security. The park offers a dedicated space for RVs, emphasizing full hookups and essential amenities that cater to the needs of travelers, whether they are visiting for a short period or for an extended stay related to base activities.
Located within the secure perimeter of Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, the RV park provides a distinct experience. It serves as an excellent base for family and friends attending Marine Corps graduations, allowing them to stay close to their loved ones during this momentous occasion. Beyond graduation visits, it's also a peaceful retreat for retired military members looking to enjoy the beauty of the Lowcountry. While the environment is generally quiet, as noted by visitors, it's important to remember you are on an active military installation, which means certain base conduct rules apply, and occasionally, the sounds of training may be present. The park officially offers 29 sites, with some reports indicating around 18-20 currently available, all equipped with full hookups.
Parris Island RV Park is strategically located at 1018 St Mihiel Rd, Beaufort, SC 29902, USA. This address places it directly within the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. This location offers both advantages and specific considerations for accessibility.
Firstly, being on a military base means controlled access. Entry to MCRD Parris Island is restricted, primarily to active duty, National Guard, Reservists, retired military personnel, 0-100% DAV (Disabled American Veterans), Purple Heart Recipients, Former POWs, Veteran Caregivers, DoD Civilians, and guests of graduating Marines. Visitors will need to present a valid government-issued photo identification, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance upon entry. Pre-enrollment in DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) may also streamline the access process. This controlled environment contributes significantly to the feeling of security and peace within the RV park.
Despite being on base, the RV park is conveniently situated. It is a good distance from the main gate, which helps maintain tranquility, yet it offers easy access to various Parris Island facilities, including the Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) and the Marine Corps Museum. Furthermore, the park is "minutes from downtown Beaufort," a historic and picturesque city known for its charming waterfront, antebellum architecture, and vibrant local scene. This dual accessibility allows guests to enjoy both the serene on-base environment and the cultural attractions of Beaufort.

Its dedicated service to this demographic creates an unparalleled sense of belonging, security, and understanding that other commercial RV parks may not offer. Very clean, friendly campers, beautiful area to walk and relax. Summer months do warrant caution around the marsh and high grass fields due yo snakes and alligators. It is posted. Staff were very helpful setting reservations. Yes, it is restricted to active military and retired. Not sure about veterans or government employees.
Jun 02, 2025 · David BozakStopped here in October 2024. The site is a good distance from the main gate, but the sites did seem big enough. It was $40 a night and when I made a reservations, they failed to tell me the bathrooms had no hot water and were under construction. Tried to use the washer and dryer. Washer did not work well. After we put our money in, it did make noise, but that was about it and filled up water. Clothes were saturated try to dry them unsuccessfully. This is one of the worst military RV sites I have been to. Tried to call of course it was after hours. No one was available to take my call the number on the board inside the washer and dryer area. The man who answered was not able to help or give me a correct number for after hours assistance. There was a commissary and exchange, which were very nice.
Jan 30, 2025 · Felton AdamsBathrooms are older but get the job done/ great big lots and nice and quite other than it being MCRD
Mar 11, 2025 · Green Wolf TacticalPretty good sized. Pads are crushed gravel, close to level. All are full hookups. It's all open with not many trees. If you've got solar, this will be great for you. Nice bathroom/shower facilities. Good laundromat. As long as you don't mind the REVEILLE bugle and the sound of marching Marines in the morning, you'll like this place.
Oct 23, 2023 · peter pinkhamNice and clean park. A little distance from the main gate, but not too far from MCX and other shops or base services. The site was level and very easy to pull up to and back in. The site did have a huge ant hill right at the hookup, but thankfully, they were easy to wash away after stepping on their site. Site is not paved, so the RV did sink just a bit overnight, so using larger pads would have been best.
