Services Offered

Riverbend Campground, as a developing property, currently offers essential services for a rustic camping experience, with plans for further enhancements. Based on available information and customer reviews, here’s what visitors can generally expect:

  • Campsites: The campground provides spaces for camping, accommodating both tents and potentially smaller RVs/trailers. The specific number and type of sites are likely to evolve as the property is built out. Given the "rustic" description, campers should anticipate more basic site setups.

  • Porta Potties: As indicated by a review, porta potties are available for restroom facilities, particularly during the early season. These are noted as being "fresh," suggesting diligent maintenance. As the campground develops, it is possible that more permanent restroom facilities may be added.

  • Water Access: While not explicitly detailed for individual sites, access to water would be expected for basic camping needs, possibly through communal spigots. It's always advisable to confirm water availability upon booking or arrival.

  • Trash Management: Campers should anticipate managing their own trash responsibly, likely through designated disposal areas or by packing out what they pack in, as is common in more rustic settings.

  • Friendly Hosts: Customer reviews highlight the presence of "friendly hosts," indicating good customer service and a welcoming atmosphere from the management. This personal touch can significantly enhance the camping experience, especially in a smaller, developing campground.

  • Developing Amenities: The campground is explicitly described as "currently rustic" but with ongoing "build out." This implies that while amenities might be basic at present, there are plans for future improvements and additions, which could include more developed restrooms, showers, or other facilities as the property grows.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on available services and what to expect during your visit, especially considering its developing nature, directly contacting Riverbend Campground is highly recommended.

Features / Highlights

Riverbend Campground offers several key features and highlights that appeal to campers seeking a more natural and evolving outdoor experience:

Being situated directly on the Grand River provides campers with immediate access to fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and simply enjoying the scenic views and sounds of the flowing water. This is a significant draw for water enthusiasts and those seeking a serene backdrop for their camping trip.

  • Rustic and Natural Setting: The campground is described as "quite rustic currently," which is a distinct feature for those who prefer a less commercialized camping experience. It allows for a more authentic connection with nature, away from the hustle and bustle of more developed parks. This rustic charm is appealing to campers who enjoy simplicity and rugged beauty.

  • Developing Property with Future Potential: A noteworthy highlight is that the campground is "as they build out the property I can definitely see it becoming a great little campground!" This indicates that while it's currently basic, there are ongoing improvements and a vision for its future. For return visitors, this means experiencing the growth and enhancement of the property over time.

  • Friendly and Accommodating Hosts: Customer reviews consistently praise the "friendly hosts." This personal touch and welcoming demeanor from the management can significantly enhance a camper's experience, providing a sense of comfort and support, which is invaluable, especially in a smaller, developing campground.

  • Proximity to Saranac and Local Attractions: While offering a rustic retreat, the campground's location in Saranac provides easy access to the village's amenities and potential local attractions, allowing campers to combine their outdoor adventure with exploring the local community.

These features suggest that Riverbend Campground is particularly well-suited for campers who appreciate a natural, riverside setting and are open to experiencing a campground that is actively growing and improving.

Promotions or Special Offers

Publicly available information regarding specific promotions or special offers for Riverbend Campground is currently limited. Given its description as a "rustic" and developing property, it is common for such campgrounds to focus on providing straightforward, competitive daily or nightly rates rather than complex promotional schemes.

However, it's always advisable for prospective campers to:

  • Inquire Directly: The best way to learn about any potential pricing nuances, special rates for extended stays, or off-season discounts is to contact Riverbend Campground directly using the provided phone numbers. As a smaller, potentially owner-operated campground, they may have flexibility in pricing or offer unadvertised deals for longer bookings or repeat visitors.

  • Early Season Benefits: One reviewer noted visiting "early in the season" when the porta potties were "fresh," implying that visiting during the shoulder seasons might offer a more pristine experience or potentially different rates compared to peak summer. It's worth asking about seasonal pricing differences.

  • Potential for Future Offers: As the campground "builds out the property," as one reviewer mentioned, it's possible that future amenities and improvements could be accompanied by introductory offers or grand opening specials. Keeping an eye on their potential social media presence or calling periodically could reveal such opportunities.

Without specific data on promotions, the primary "offer" of Riverbend Campground appears to be its current value as a rustic riverside escape with friendly hosts and the promise of future development. Excellent property with friendly hosts! Quite rustic currently (though we went early in the season and the porta John's were fresh!) but as they build out the property I can definitely see it becoming a great little campground!

It seemed nice at first but the regular campers and the owner slowly turned very rude and two faced. While I stayed there one of the campers accused me of being on his boat and stealing from his site simply because I was in the water near the boat launch, which was right by his site at the time. The owner automatically believed him and didn't even bother to ask me for the truth before she kicked everyone out from our site. They gave us hours to leave and kept pestering us with threats about calling the cops while we were trying to pack. I definitely do not recommend staying there more than a night or two. Those people seem to enjoy starting drama.

This is the greatest campground! You’re surrounded by beautiful scenery; the river, cranes, deer, flowers, mushrooms; it’s a perfect little getaway. The owners are friendly, professional, and always go above and beyond. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to unwind, relax, and get a little fishing and/or kayaking in.

The bad reviewer below had people staying there that hadn't paid to be there, and was also living out of the campground. A menace to the other peaceful campers with trash, fighting, foul language, yelling.
