Robinhood of Sherwood Forest About
When planning a camping trip in Michigan, locals often seek a place that offers relaxation, fun, and a chance to connect with nature. However, not every campground lives up to these expectations for every camper. Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground, located at 7945 Dunn Rd, Munith, MI 49259, USA, is one such place that has garnered mixed feedback from its patrons, providing a crucial perspective for anyone considering a stay.
While the name conjures images of rustic charm and adventurous freedom, recent reviews from real customers suggest a very particular atmosphere and set of expectations at Robinhood of Sherwood Forest. One camper, a long-term visitor, expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating, "I have been at the campground for 10 years and every year it got worse you can’t have fun there or they will run you out can’t play Music too loud and can’t be up to late what a good vacation people around the park call the manager a camp Nazi I can understand why now don’t recommend coming here go down the road there is a lot more campgrounds better then here!!!!!" Another review was even more blunt: "Zero stars? I'd give it negative stars if I could! Nasty bathrooms + Peggy = campground disaster. Trust me, go elsewhere!"
These strong sentiments suggest that Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground might operate with a strict set of rules and an enforcement style that clashes with some campers' desires for a more relaxed and lively experience. For Michigan residents, understanding these candid insights is paramount when deciding if this particular campground aligns with their vision of an ideal outdoor getaway. This article aims to provide a factual overview, drawing directly from public feedback, to help you make an informed decision about Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground.
Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground is situated at 7945 Dunn Rd, Munith, MI 49259, USA. Munith is a small, unincorporated community located in Jackson County, Michigan. This positioning places the campground in a generally rural area, offering the quintessential Michigan countryside experience with open spaces and natural surroundings.
For Michigan locals, the accessibility of Munith can be a significant factor. It is typically reached via state routes and local roads, often involving a drive through scenic, less-trafficked areas. While not directly on a major interstate, Munith is within reasonable driving distance of larger population centers in Southeast Michigan, such as Jackson, Ann Arbor, and Lansing. This makes it a potential option for those seeking a getaway that feels removed from urban hustle without requiring a journey to the far reaches of Northern Michigan.
The address on Dunn Road suggests a setting that might be more secluded, contributing to a potentially quieter environment, though camper reviews indicate that the campground's internal rules and management style have a greater impact on the perceived atmosphere than its physical remoteness. Being in Jackson County, campers might also have access to regional attractions, local farms, or smaller community events if they choose to explore beyond the campground's boundaries.
However, it is important for prospective campers to note that given the critical reviews regarding management and facilities, the specific experience within the campground itself may heavily influence the overall perception of the location's suitability, regardless of its geographical placement in tranquil rural Michigan.
Based on general information about campgrounds of this type and inferring from the customer reviews (both positive and negative), Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground likely offers a range of basic services typical for a private campground. However, the quality and management of these services appear to be a point of contention for some past visitors.
Common services at campgrounds like Robinhood of Sherwood Forest typically include:
- Campsites for RVs and Tents: Most campgrounds offer a variety of site types to accommodate different camping preferences. This would usually include:
- RV Sites: Likely with electrical hookups (e.g., 30-amp or 50-amp), and potentially water and sewer connections for full hookup options.
- Tent Sites: Designated areas for traditional tent camping.
- Seasonal/Long-term Sites: The mention of a camper being there for "10 years" suggests that the campground accommodates long-term or seasonal stays.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: These are fundamental for any campground. However, a significant negative review explicitly states "Nasty bathrooms," indicating that the cleanliness and maintenance of these facilities might be a major concern for visitors.
- On-Site Management: The reviews frequently mention "the manager" and "Peggy," indicating that there is a visible and active on-site management presence responsible for enforcing rules and assisting campers. The nature of this management, however, is perceived very negatively by some, described as "camp Nazi" and contributing to a "campground disaster."
- Rules and Regulations: While all campgrounds have rules, the reviews suggest that rules regarding "Music too loud" and "can’t be up to late" are strictly, and perhaps excessively, enforced, to the point of impacting campers' ability to "have fun."
It is important for prospective campers to directly inquire about the specific amenities, site types, and any detailed rules before booking, especially given the strong feedback regarding the state of facilities and management style. Understanding these aspects beforehand will help manage expectations and potentially avoid a disappointing experience.
Based on the provided customer reviews, identifying positive "features" or "highlights" for Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground is challenging, as the feedback leans heavily towards negative experiences. However, we can infer certain aspects that, while not necessarily highlights for all, characterize the campground's operation and what campers might encounter.
- Long-Term/Seasonal Stay Potential: The review mentioning a camper being there for "10 years" suggests that the campground accommodates and perhaps caters to seasonal or long-term residents. This could be a feature for those seeking a consistent summer home for their RV.
- Active On-Site Management/Rule Enforcement: While heavily criticized ("camp Nazi," "getting out of control will not be tolerated"), the presence of active management means that rules, particularly those related to noise and behavior, are indeed enforced. For a very specific type of camper who prioritizes strict quiet hours and adherence to regulations above all else, this might paradoxically be considered a "feature" if it guarantees a certain level of order.
- Location in Rural Michigan: Situated in Munith, the campground benefits from a rural setting that could offer a peaceful natural backdrop, away from city noise. However, this natural tranquility appears to be overshadowed by the internal dynamics and management of the park, according to reviews.
It is crucial to acknowledge that these inferred "features" are presented in the context of overwhelmingly negative customer feedback. The reviews specifically highlight significant issues that overshadow any potential positives:
- Poorly Maintained Facilities: The direct comment "Nasty bathrooms" is a major red flag, indicating a lack of cleanliness and potentially poor upkeep of essential amenities.
- Restrictive Atmosphere: Phrases like "you can’t have fun there or they will run you out," "can’t play Music too loud and can’t be up to late," illustrate a highly restrictive environment that stifles recreational enjoyment for some campers.
- Negative Management Style: The descriptions "camp Nazi" and "Peggy = campground disaster" point to a management approach that is perceived as unapproachable, overly controlling, and detrimental to the camping experience.
Given these strong criticisms, prospective campers from Michigan should approach Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground with extreme caution and carefully consider whether a highly regulated and potentially unwelcoming environment aligns with their camping preferences.
Based on the very limited and overwhelmingly negative customer reviews provided, there is no information whatsoever regarding any promotions or special offers at Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground. The reviews focus heavily on dissatisfaction with management, rules, and facilities rather than any commercial incentives.
In a professional setting, where a business is actively promoting itself, one would expect details about pricing, discounts for longer stays, seasonal specials, or perhaps loyalty programs. The absence of such mentions in customer feedback, combined with the strong negative sentiment, suggests that promotions are unlikely to be a highlight or even a significant factor for this campground.
If Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground were to offer promotions, they would typically include:
- Off-Season Rates: Reduced prices during less popular times of the year.
- Weekly or Monthly Discounts: Lower per-night rates for extended stays.
- Return Customer Incentives: Special deals for loyal campers.
- Package Deals: Combining site fees with access to amenities (if available and well-maintained).
However, without any supporting public data or positive customer mentions, it is impossible to confirm the existence of any such offers. For Michigan locals considering this campground, it would be essential to contact them directly to inquire about current rates and any potential specials. Nevertheless, given the severe nature of the provided reviews, potential promotions might not outweigh the reported issues regarding the overall camping experience and facility conditions.
For any inquiries regarding Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground, including current availability, specific site details, pricing, rules, or to attempt to clarify any concerns raised in customer reviews, you can use the following contact information:
- Address: 7945 Dunn Rd, Munith, MI 49259, USA
- Phone: (517) 596-2165

Given the strong negative feedback from previous campers, it is highly recommended that prospective visitors from Michigan consider calling the campground directly to ask very specific questions about their policies regarding noise, visitor hours, cleanliness of facilities, and general atmosphere. This proactive step might help to set clearer expectations and potentially avoid a disappointing experience.
Additionally, while phone numbers are provided, a thorough review of their official website (if one exists beyond general listings) and other online review platforms (beyond the provided snippets) would be advisable for a more comprehensive understanding of current conditions and management philosophy before making a reservation.
Based on the provided customer reviews, it is extremely challenging to make a positive recommendation for Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground as a suitable destination for Michigan locals seeking a typical, enjoyable camping experience. The feedback paints a concerning picture that directly contradicts the general expectations of relaxation and fun associated with a vacation campground. Therefore, the suitability of this place for locals comes with significant and critical caveats.
The strongest indicator of unsuitability lies in the repeated and severe complaints about the restrictive atmosphere and management style. Phrases such as "you can’t have fun there or they will run you out," "can’t play Music too loud and can’t be up to late," and the manager being called a "camp Nazi" suggest an environment where freedom and enjoyment are severely curtailed. For Michigan residents looking for a relaxing escape, this level of control would likely be a major deterrent. The notion of "getting out of control will not be tolerated" sounds more like a correctional facility than a leisure destination.
Furthermore, the explicit mention of "Nasty bathrooms" combined with the overall sentiment of "campground disaster" points to significant issues with facility cleanliness and maintenance. Clean restrooms and showers are fundamental expectations for any modern campground, and their absence or poor condition can severely detract from the camping experience. Locals who prioritize comfort and hygiene would likely find this aspect unacceptable.
While the campground's location in rural Munith might offer a sense of escape, the internal dynamics described by former campers appear to overshadow any potential benefits of the natural setting. The suggestion to "go down the road there is a lot more campgrounds better then here!!!!!" from a 10-year veteran camper is perhaps the most damning indictment, clearly guiding prospective visitors to seek alternatives.
In conclusion, for Michigan locals seeking a traditional, enjoyable, and welcoming camping experience with reasonable freedom and clean facilities, Robinhood of Sherwood Forest Campground, based on the provided reviews, is likely NOT suitable. Its suitability might only extend to a very niche group of campers who prioritize extreme quiet and strict adherence to rules above all other aspects of a vacation, and are willing to overlook significant concerns about facility quality and management approach. For the vast majority, it appears other campgrounds in the Michigan area would offer a more positive and satisfying outdoor adventure.

I have been at the campground for 10 years and every year it got worse you can’t have fun there or they will run you out can’t play Music too loud and can’t be up to late what a good vacation people around the park call the manager a camp Nazi I can understand why now don’t recommend coming here go down the road there is a lot more campgrounds better then here!!!!!
Zero stars? I'd give it negative stars if I could! Nasty bathrooms + Peggy = campground disaster. Trust me, go elsewhere!
First year as a permanent resident. Absolutely love it.
I love how everyone there knows each other. Even if your someone like me just visiting they make you feel so at home. Nice breakfast every morning. Good coffee. Nice pool on top of a nice beach area! Nice combination of trees for shade and open space. Super kid friendly. And really cheap for such a great area. Plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the site. Would definitely stay again, would even bring some family or friends!
Place and campers are amazing people....new management knows nothing accept for how to cover up lies and more lies. They are judgemental and have no respect or cares about anyone. The place is getting a face lift yes but the campground it's self is going Down hill fast. If you don't have a newer camper don't even try. Look around before choosing Sherwood there are plenty more options that are cheaper and the owners actually care about they're residents and visitors. They get 2 stars only because of the people that camp there that make the place nice.
