It's a small camp ground and the sites are fairly close. The grounds were clean, the people nice, and the views aren't terrible. The pool was closed seasonally and there are no showers in bath house. It was pretty convient to get to Chimney rock and the blue ridge parkway which is where we spent most of our time. We loved how quiet and dark it was. Good place to stay if it's just to sleep or sit out by a camp fire.
Oct 23, 2018 · Jeanie LovelightThis campground has beautiful mountain views. It is also close to Lake lure/Chimney Rock with tons of outdoor things to do. The owner is very nice and very helpful. They have a new salt water pool, but it is closed-- due to us staying in the off season. They currently have 8 full hook-up sites, 8 water/electric only sites and several tent camping sites. The sites are level and have gravel as the base in the RV sites. The bathhouse is nice and well kept. The picnic tables are weather worn, but the owner is in the process of replacing them. He made sure we got a new one when he got the first batch delivered. I have enjoyed staying here with my family and have recommended this campground to my friends and family.
Apr 10, 2016 · Chris GulledgeWe camp here twice a month, rain or shine. The owner is super friendly and accommodating. There is a lovely inground pool which is amazing during the summer and the bathrooms have a shower as well! There's tons of open space and the scenery is absolutely beautiful! Its out of the way, so it's usually not crowded. A great place for a romantic getaway or just to unwind.
Feb 01, 2018 · Amy PerryDo not go here!! Thank goodness we only stayed 2 nights! Pool was green, not even open obviously. Bath house was not that clean. No laundry! Owner was ok, not the best, not the worst. No wifi, no cable. Gravel road was hideous to travel into campground, and the signage or should I say lack thereof was awful. Just do yourself a favor and book some where else.
Sep 08, 2020 · Rachel ViersThe best part about this campground was the beautiful scenery that was visible from the campsites! Another great thing was that there are long beautiful (hunting) trails that are directly accessible from the campground, and the town and other attractions were a short drive from the campground. Other than that, we’re not sure we’d come back. The whole experience was odd from the start. It was unclear where to park, it was unclear who we needed to pay and talk to, and we never filled out any paperwork or spoke to the owner (he was out when we arrived, and we were told by his wife that he would come collect information from us, but he never did). The people we did talk to weren’t super friendly or helpful. It was quite expensive to camp here compared to other places we’ve camped, so we expected better service. We were fortunate to be the only tent campers for the weekend, because the sites were uncomfortably close to each other. Some of the other campsites were filled with trash. It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful location with lots of potential. I take one star away for the poor management, and one for the poor conditions for tent campers.
