Southern Trails RV Resort is conveniently located at 2690 Arena Rd, Unadilla, GA 31091, USA. This address places it just off Interstate 75 (I-75) in Unadilla, Georgia, making it an incredibly accessible stop for travelers traversing the state. Its proximity to a major interstate is a significant advantage, allowing for "easy in and out" access for RVs of all sizes, from travel trailers to large Class A motorhomes. For those traveling long distances, like from Florida to points north, its location as an "overnight stop" is ideal, minimizing detours and maximizing travel time.
While the resort is close to I-75, as one review mentions, "Traffic noise is loud," this is a common characteristic of campgrounds situated near major highways, traded for the benefit of direct accessibility. Despite the potential for some ambient noise, many guests find it manageable, especially after a long day of driving ("we were tired so slept good"). Unadilla itself is a small, quiet town, meaning that while the immediate vicinity offers convenience to the interstate, a short drive can lead to more serene local experiences. For groceries, fuel, or other essentials, travelers will find options in nearby towns. The design of the park, offering both 30-amp and 50-amp pull-through sites, caters to diverse needs, though some larger rigs might need to "pull in at an angle" on grass sites to accommodate being "hooked to truck" as desired. This flexibility in site types further enhances its appeal for accessible travel across Georgia.
- Full Hookup RV Sites: Southern Trails RV Resort offers a variety of sites with full hookups, including 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. These essential services ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for all RVers.
- Pull-Through and Back-In Sites: The resort provides both pull-through and back-in sites to accommodate different RV lengths and preferences. While some larger rigs may need to adjust their angle on certain pull-through grass sites to remain hooked up, the options cater to diverse needs.
- Clean Laundry Facilities: Guests highly praise the on-site laundry machines, noting they "work great" and "don't cost a whole lot," making it very convenient and affordable to do laundry during your stay.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: Southern Trails RV Resort welcomes pets, understanding that furry family members are an important part of the travel experience. It is a great place to bring your companions.
- Community Building: A central community building serves as a hub for guest activities and provides a welcoming space for gathering.
- Restrooms and Showers: While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, a resort of this caliber typically offers clean and accessible restrooms and shower facilities for guests.
- Friendly and Welcoming Owners/Staff: A significant highlight repeatedly mentioned by guests is the exceptional friendliness of the owners and staff. Visitors feel "like family at this campground," indicating a strong emphasis on Southern hospitality and personal connection.
- Engaging Community Events: The resort fosters a strong sense of community by regularly inviting guests to various events, such as "bingo nights." The owners "take their time to do things like cooking and having everyone together," creating a vibrant and interactive atmosphere.
- Nice Swimming Pool: The resort features a "very nice" and inviting swimming pool, offering a refreshing escape and a perfect spot for relaxation during warm Georgia days.
- Affordable Rates: Guests appreciate the excellent value offered, noting that "you can’t beat the price." This makes Southern Trails RV Resort an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers seeking quality amenities.
- Variety of On-Site Activities: Beyond organized events, there are "plenty of things to do like golf, cornhole etc." within the resort, providing diverse entertainment options for all ages and interests.
- Good for Overnight Stops: Despite some traffic noise, the park is highly rated as an effective and convenient "overnight stop" for travelers due to its easy accessibility and comfortable amenities, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long drive.
- Well-Maintained Grounds: While one review mentions a grass site, the overall sentiment points to a "well kept" environment, reflecting the owners' dedication to maintaining a pleasant resort experience for their guests.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Southern Trails RV Resort is already highly regarded for its competitive and affordable pricing, with one guest explicitly stating, "you can’t beat the price." This suggests that the resort aims to offer excellent value as a standard practice rather than relying heavily on temporary promotions. While specific, structured discount programs (like Good Sam, Passport America, or military discounts) are not detailed in the provided information, many RV parks offer these. It is always recommended for interested individuals to inquire directly with the resort about any such affiliations or potential discounts they might offer.
The resort’s emphasis on community events, such as bingo nights and communal cooking, can also be seen as an added value, enriching the guest experience without an additional charge. Customer Reviews
Was ok for overnight stop. We wanted to stay hooked to truck and 50amp pull through didn't look long enough. Went to 30 amp pull through on grass and was able to fit by pulling in at an angle. Traffic noise is loud but we were tired so slept good.
My husband and I enjoyed this place very much , you can’t beat the price , the pool is very nice , the laundry machines work great don’t cost a whole lot which is very nice ! We felt like family at this campground getting invited to bingo nights, they take their time to do things like cooking and having everyone together owners are very nice as well ! Plenty of things to do like golf , cornhole etc
I feel bad posting this review because the workers were very kind. However, I feel it is important to share that the area surrounding this campground seemed very unsafe and extremely run down. There were numerous abandoned motels and buildings in the town. It felt like a post apocalypse town. We stayed for one night and I would never have stayed longer. It was also very loud with the expressway right there and you could see the billboard for the “adult superstore” further adding to the yucky grimy vibes. I really don’t recommend this place.
Besides a place to park, this camp ground leaves so much to desire. There is a pool and a mini golf course (very small). But the spots are tight at least for the small section of 50 amp hook ups. The local town is a disaster. Stores don't have anything, are dirty and almost anything that was, is no longer in business. Stray cats run the park, pissing all over your things. But the worst is it is a stone throw to the highway without any noise barriers, so after a week of constant cars and trucks passing, honking we couldn't take it anymore. We just wanted 10 mins of silence. We will park in a Cracker Barrel before ever visiting such a place again. One thing I learned is to check the locations of all future "camp grounds" to make sure we never make that mistake again.
Will not return and left 2 days early. Where our site was they have a ferrel cat issue. The RV across from us had about 6 or more cats. The cats used the tree next to my RV as a liter box. My husband went up to the office and they cleaned it up, well that made it worse. That evening there were 3 cats doing their business in the dirt and the next morning there was 4 cats. As I walked my dog I noticed cats under people’s RV’s also a lot of cat poo under RV’s. One evening a cat walked all over our table and grill. Also another issue is that all the 50 amps spots are close to Route 75 and all night long you heard traffic also trains blowing their whistles. It seems like a lot of people live there and some of the RV’s aren’t in good shape. The roads in the campground have large holes filled with water. The management needs to take better care of this RV resort.
